In practical terms the overwhelming number of people want to have security, a roof on their head and food on the table and could not give a monkey's who runs the country.
i will focus on this.
look at the economical situation of Syria since the assad clan has been in power...
- socialist/communist policies who have failed
- several wars against Israel that has weakened their economy even more
- loosing land to Israel
- people like Syrian Christian and Syrian Lion moving to USA to get better economical situation etc...
what does this tell you? that people haven't seen a single bit of change for 40 years, while miss assad is shoping in Europe for thousands of Euros the average Syrian citizen struggles to get some few dollars a day.
you think people are happy about this?
and some fun facts that you might not know.
-Turkey is the biggest economical partner of Syria and Turkey was the only country who supported Syria to be more favoured in the west
- Russia only cares about Syria because of it's port, not because it values human life as seen several times (supporting Serbs, Supporting North-Korea, supporting several sick dictators in Africa)
i am talking politics now, forget the war that is going on, but who would want to have someone ruling them for 40 years and give them no economical change?
and on top of that loosing some land from your country to someone else, and going to war for no reason, occupying Lebanon for 25 years... where do you think that will lead the country to.
what we are seeing is a mini Soviet dissolving slowly... assad has done the same thing the stupid soviet dictators do. drain their country into an economical mess
