Anti-aircraft missile system C-400 Triumph was added to the Russian armoury in April 28, 2007. According to the combat training plan, the regiment, which tests the system first, conducts annual firing practice at one of the firing grounds.
It has to be pointed out that Russian anti-aircraft systems possess better performance characteristics in comparison with foreign analogs including American ones.
These complexes are intended for military alignment and major units defence from enemy aircrafts, aeroballistic and ballistic missiles. The system ensures the repulse of the massive air raids and are able to fulfill the task under any weather conditions, at daytime and at night.
C-400 outgoes the American Patriot in many factors. Owing to the vertical missile launch system it can hit the targets flying from any direction without turning the launching facilities. Time of setting the system from mobile to battle position is also significant in comparing two pieces of equipment. If Russian complex sets to battle position in 5 minutes, the Patriot needs 30 minutes.
C-400 anti-aircraft missile system ensures:
- hitting air targets at the distance of 250 km;
- hitting nonstrategic ballistic missiles at the distance of 60 km;
- high chance of hitting all types of targets owing to the missile aiming algorithm;
- high interference immunity;
- possibility to be integrated into air defence groupings.
