Alhumdulillah!!! It's about time, I have been waiting for Pakistan and Russia to establish deep rooted, genuine ties of friendship and alliance. Russia today, is the most important country that Pakistan must establish good relationship with, on all fronts.

Welcome sir. Good to see one of the major world powers bringing their top man here. It speaks volumes, as it does when envoys "skip" countries.
The Russians are proud and great people, church and love for the motherland unites them, indeed honourable traits.
I hope he is given a warm welcome and let ties prosper, and grow even stronger. Energy, defence, trade, the sky is the limit.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi came under criticism on social media, when he arrived to welcome his Russian counterpart in imperial style accompanied by an umbrella bearer.

FM Qureshi was always ready to represent the country but was ashamed to carry his own umbrella. He arrived at the airport to receive his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov who was holding his own umbrella while FM Qureshi had people who performed this rather difficult task for him.

The Foreign Minister's style did not go unnoticed by the people and was criticized on social media.
Social media users said that the foreign minister of a superpower like Russia can hold his own umbrella, so why not the Pakistani Foreign Minister.

Some people just need to kill their time and love to make fuss .
It was raining heavily in Islamabad yesterday and shah quereshi was holding his own umbrella and just as a courtesy he offered it to lavrov. Even such courtesy is being offered by US presidents. It's a quality of a gentleman not a slave master thing . I can smell a burning indian arse here.

some people have nothing useful to do... our media... dumb as hell.
In general Russia is very strong in basic industries such as refining, mining , steel etc industries Pakistan needs technical and expertise in help setting up. Russian Engineering and technical training can also be useful.

Pakistan wants Russia to have an active stake in its energy sector, which automatically increases Pakistan's strategic importance for Russia. We don't play all of our options well, but Pakistan is doing fairly well in this instance.
