Hiw do the Russian pilot know the system is jammed? The russian pilot can be jamming it, but does that mean it works?
Did the russian pilot park his jet somewhere and board the ship.and looo at the CIC console and say"yeah, i jammed you good, yankee" or did the American radio to tue Russian pilot saying you are jamming us, back off?

Otherwise hiw he know the zystem is jammed?

i think its official... i'm more interested in the technical part. electronic warfare has always been a secret its not easy to understand what's going on unless you have an expert explaining the technical work and where technology have reached. we all know that army technology is always advanced 10 to 20 years than civil technology. what you have on your iphone today the army had it decades ago. so its not about who has better technology. its about where each nation have reached. im not an expert at all but if you guys know anyone who can shed some light it would be interesting

let's assume this is true. kinda dumb to show your hand. now the U.S knows it happened and can now to develop a counter-measure.

I'm sorry but it doesn't make any sense. Electronic warfare is something different than the conventional warfare. If you posses some capability like that you definitely sit on that information. You don't show off. If you show off you're giving valuable feedback to your adversary about it's security flaws.

To test such systems you use your own comparable hardware. Not try it against your adversary like warning them "I can hack you.". You never say that to exploit the security flaws. Because such flaws can be easily overcome by software patches or hardware changes tops which is not much of a problem.

So what you do is, you detect a flaw, sit on it and wait for the best time to exploit the flaw to achieve some gain from it.

The screens went blank ? In EW, screens DO NOT go blank. They just filled up with white spots. Crewmembers became demoralized and got out of the Navy ? Not only are there no proof of that, the assertion is absurd on its face. People who are technically trained are not that emotional when their hardware do not work. They get to work on investigation and solving problems. The rest of the story is equally ridiculous.

But ultimately, the US military have no problems with anyone believing US to be incompetent boobs. We just know they will find out the hard way when the time comes.

Not being in the Navy i cannot provide you with specific even if i can divulge the operational detail

However when u use commonsense on the issue, how do you actually know the radar is jammed? If Russian said so, and that was true, then the only way is that Russian have some kind of a spy serving on board the US destroyer Donald Cook.

What we know is what the news told us, thats the Su-24 was making passes 12 times with the American doing nothing.

Hut then they could he in contant radio contact and talk about girls for all we know but what are we supposed to do lol. Shoot down every aircraft that come near the destroyer?
