Russian Ministry of Defense has decided that all of them will be converted to a t-72B3 standard. By the end of the 2013 some 270 units were delivered to the Western Military District. This year army has received 294 T - 72B3 tanks.Plans most probably are for modernizing existing T-72 to standard B3(it is much cheaper than completely replace them with new tanks).Armata tanks will gradually come into army and eventually replace all tanks but the process will be long.By then tank forces will be mix of T-72 variants/T-90 variants and new Armata tanks.

Some T-72B3s were handed to rebels. I think about 10.

Yes, all of T-72B3.

There is also T-90A in service (around 500 tanks).

Does it take lot of funds to maintain T-72B3 ? Now we will see more investment on Anti tank system in Ukraine and NATO members.

The cost of modernization is around 1.5mln$ per one tank. Modernization including a new FCS with thermal vision, new gun, new radio station and navigation system, Kontakt-V ERA and fully repair of hull and engine.

and how its related to Ukrainian crisis?
