You know what would be kinda hilarious?

When the Western powers succeed and "liberate" Syria" from their independence, sovereignty and natural resources and establish another puppet regime, but the remnants of the "freedom fighter" terrorist they trained and armed decides run a Boing 787 into the freedom tower in 2020.

Maybe the Western population will stop supporting their own regimes for aiding terrorists after a second slap into the face.

A well deserved punishment to support all these thousand of innocent deaths of civilians, government forces and politicians by those self established terrorists forces, just to get rid of an unfavorable but legitimate government.

Actions speak louder than words... bombing cities with Artilleries, hunting people in the streets whoever they are by snipers, cutting food supplies on people, and saying that Alassad is not asking for troubles, the number of killing is reported on daily basis by civilians... it is now even worse as he feels his hopes are being limited with time and his end will be marked soon enshallah... in the other side, Iran and Russian are sending their military experts and military supplies to help in the killing of the civilians.. These two countries have to be held accountable for the killing of these crimes.. They have the Syrians’ blood on the criminal hands…

This civil war in Syria is going to last a very long time. Both sides are not giving in. The only thing that could end the violence is if the alawite elite launch a coup against the Assad family. However that will not happen. Assad has the support of the Alawites,Christians,Druze and secular moderate Sunni wealthy business elite. The problem with the FSA is that unlike Libya there will be no high military ranking defections. All the defection are from conscripts and low ranking officers. Plus they needs to be some cohesion. The FSA are divided between autonomous militias call "brigades." Each brigade does their own thing. In Libya the rebels were united. What is most likely to happen is that both sides will throw weapons and money at the situation. Russia,Iran,North Korea ,China will send arms,oil and cash to Assad. The West,GCC,Turkey will send arms,cash and supplies to the FSA. There will be no intervention. Syria will be the battleground of the Saudi-Iran cold war.

The Libyan rebels, for all their military shortcomings, quickly grabbed a swathe of eastern Libya and major air and seaports in Benghazi and Tobruk that became their resupply hubs. The Free Syrian Army (FSA) hold little territory. The FSA is stronger then it was a year ago but it is composed of poorly trained conscripts,citizen militias. For these reasons, I think we’re going to see a low-grade civil war in Syria for the foreseeable future. The government will not be able to fully suppress this revolt. The opposition will prove unable to completely overturn the government. The stalemate could go on for a long, long time. For examples of this, look at Yemen in the 1970s, Lebanon in the 1980s, or Somalia in the 1990s.
