Russian Armed Forces to Receive 1,500 Combat Aircraft and about 200 Air Defense Syste

In order to have 1,500 fighters by December 31, 2020 they have to add 3 fighters everyday from today and spend at least $100 million a day. Russia would have to spend $36.5 billion each year to buy combat fighters for next eight years. That is not possible even with energy revenue that Russia receives every year.

HOW?
3 fighters a day for 10 years is like 365 X 3 X 10 = 10950:disagree:

They need to add just 150 fighters per year. Lets take the cost of each one to be 50 million. That is 7.5 billion a year. Even if we are to consider the cost of each plane to be 100 million.. Its still just 15 billion a year. That is way short of your $36.5 billion a year. They still got one of the largest military budget at $ 65 billion.

I doubt Russia can manufacture 1500 aircraft in 10 years. That would be making 75 Su-35S and 75 MiG-35 per year. Not possible IMHO. Maybe some of the Russian members can comment about it.

This was the make-up of the Soviet Air Forces and Air Defense Forces in 1980s:

Fighters:
300 Su-27
560 MiG-31
540 MiG-29
560 MiG-25
1550 MiG-23
240 MiG-21
500 Su-15

Ground Attack:
340 Su-25
630 Su-24
530 Su-17
320 Su-7
500 MiG-27

Bombers:
160 Tu-95
15 Tu-160
60 Tu-22M
120 Tu-22
210 Tu-16

Transport
450 An-124
55 An-22
210 An-12
310 Il-76

Tankers:
34 Il-76
30 M-4
20 Tu-16

In total, that is 4250 fighters, 2320 attack aircraft, 565 bombers, 615 transports, and 84 tankers. It was the world's largest air force by far.

And yet, some people today doubt that Russia can get just 1500 aircraft in a decade, which includes upgrades and helicopters. :disagree:

It's Russia, they have the natural resources and workers to make those planes if they want to. It's not like they have to use FOREX to import the natural resources and foriegn workers to make the final product.
