Yeah, that's what my interpretation of what @blondeturkish wrote was as well. Ataturk would turn in his grave if he saw what has been going on in Turkey the past 10 years.
I was chatting with @Sinan on another thread just yesterday about how dangerous the media has gotten when it comes to Aleppo since the city was taken over by SAA, all the propaganda that has been coming out and that you can tell how effective of a weapon it can be and how people are controlled/indoctrinated by it , knew something like this would happen happen eventually with all the misinformation and propaganda coming out lately.
Thats true. I actually grew up believing that an assertive Turkey with Neo-Ottoman ambitions would be good for the region in the long run. However for this to gain any public support there would need to be social reforms that would highly "Islamify" and "Arabify" the Turkish society. What better way to do it then media? But ofcourse as a results we are slowly importing all the problems that Arab countries are facing. In others words we would have to become Arabic in nature. Needless to say i was disgusted with the situation in Turkey and then it all just clicks into place. I could finally understand what Ataturk was all about and what his vision of the Turkish republic was. That man was a genius is nation building, and deserves all the respect in the world. During the siege of Aleppo you could clearly see the bias in the media throughout the world. Conflicting reports and made up stories were a norm. When the rebels burned down the busses for Foua & Kafarya that were ment for the evacuation of civilians, the Turkish mainstream media reported that it was the fault of "Shia rebels" and regime forces. Honestly the state of this war is disgusting. I dont even care anymore who wins, let it just end at this point.
