The Socialdemocratic party (the largest party in Sweden, but in opposition) has announced they want to provide Gripen fighters to Ukraine, but only after Swedens entry into NATO. A lot of studies will be needed to ensure that the consequences of the transfer can be handled by the Swedish Air Force and that the Ukrainan Air Force can actually support the aircraft in the field. Doing the studies now will at shorten the time for decision, but no aircrafts should be expected short term.

That won't happen either. A modern fighter costs a small fortune, and a small country like say Sweden can't afford to give such money away. Besides the cost there is no chance that SAAB can produce a large number of the C-version. Since the C is no longer in production, it is the new E-version that is produced today. And that's a totally new aircraft. Both larger, better and costs way more then the C. So no Gripen C for Ukraine unless a country like South Africa are allowed to sell their Gripens to Ukraine.

So Potin decided to murder 10 of his own people in cold blood.
He could have easily arrested Prigozhin , but thought it better to murder him and 9 other Russians.
I can understand Russians accepting their regime operates in a Mafia , Casa nostra like fassion. After all they are used to not being free since the days of the Tsars.
But maybe people on this forum should reconsider their moral support of this leader , that murders his own people without scrutiny.

The wagners are finished without Prigozhin. It’s just the last act anyway. Prigozhin’s contract killlers had received no money from Putin and Lukashenko since the failed revolt.

Sweden has around 100 Gripen C/D. It is aquiring 60 Gripen E.
I believe the plan is to keep 40-60 Gripen C/D so there will be surplus aircrafts available anyway. Any Gripen will be shipped from the Swedish Air Force inventory.
The Swedish Air Force has received the first production Gripen E but the first unit is only to be formed in 2025.
Even best case, there will not be any Gripens flying for Ukraine until the end of 2024. Then Sweden would be reducing its readiness and that is why NATO membership is important. If they receive them in 2025, then it is less of a problem.
Some people speculate that it was Shoigu behind the assassination.
