EU already has low birth rate and dwindling white population. Increasing defence budget only means more war in Ukraine and sacrifice of universal healthcare. It will be vicious cycle. More weapons. More war. Less healthcare. Less birth rate. Rinse and repeat.

That's why China only spend 1% on defence but has excellent social services and relies on nuclear weapons for defence.

Ultimatley its a problem for EVERY country with population decline , and population decline occurs in every rich country.

China has a bigger issue of male ‘glut’ . Because of one child policy ration between men and women is 104 to 100 vs. the natural tendency of about even. Thats 30M more men than women. Even Xi can’t force tens of millions of poor men to become gay by edict. Ultimately its the poorest 30M that will have no women as every women will marry up.

So the point is everybody has problems. Don’t make China out to be some superior race that is above all things.

Disagree. China has the Yellow river floodplain. As a result, China has abundant food supply. This is not the case of Europe.

For all those saying Bakhmut is the ultimate Russian victory and sign of Russian genius and prowess and NATO is shivering and about to fail.

As for the actual military, they always felt Bakhmut was a wasted agenda that will drain resources and want to preserve their ammo for the rest of the frontline vs. give it to the former chef.

So now, please pipe up all those calling for NATO on edge and afraid…

I read this article. It doesnt claim HIMARS are largely ineffective, but that jamming is something the ukrainians have to counter since the russians are stalled and in defensive positions now, increasing use of russian jamming systems.

HIMARS can fire unguided rockets which cannot be jammed but it seems it's no longer in production. Also, HIMARS don't have any laser guided rounds like Krasnopol which cannot be jammed.

That's why I've been advocating laser guided rounds for Tornado-S but fell on deaf ears. To date, Tornado-S can fire unguided rounds and GPS guided rounds but not laser guided rounds which are accurate and unjammable.

wagner promised to capture Bakhmut by 9 may 2023…. They got their asses kicked by Ukraine and failed… now Wagner is trying to find a fall guy for their failure …..

Virtually all of Bakhmut has been captured.

Ammunition shortage of Wagner is an old theme. Prigozhin mentioned it a while back and the problem was thought to be solved, now obviously not.

What we are all waiting for next is the Ukrainian offensive.
