Tank vs tank is more rare than lightning strikes this war. They just don't have the range and get knocked out by arti or missiles before they can get close enough. Tanks are only used as assault guns in this war.



Mass producing unguided shells means arti have to be placed close to the front to have any accuracy and that means they are easy targets for counter fire. With the huge numbers of counter battery radars and long range MRLS, they are just not survivable in this scenario.

Tanks that haven’t been used in decades look it’s not just tanks that Russia lacks, it’s a cohesive plan on the battlefield.

The fate of the counter-attack north of Bakhmut, progress in the attack flanks on Avdiivka, and control of a defensive line in the Liman axis..

- Wagner trapped an AFU offensive attempt in the north of Bakhmut.. and some Ukrainian tanks sent from the Western side of the city were detected and destroyed by the RU precision artillery rounds..

- A Ukrainian SU-27 was downed in Avdiivka trying to support AFU troops who were ejected from their tranches after RU troops stormed them and pursued them into the forests.. Brogozhin says that contrary to what the media is saying..it is not Wagner forces ..but the RU forces who are advancing in Avdiivka.. and wishes them success..

- AFU declares readying armies of about a 50 000 civilian Chinese drones supported with Starlink services to protect them against ground EW systems

- ARRW Hypersoninc missile test failed, US Air Force admits.. eventhough they have lowered the ambition from Mach 15 to Mach 5

Russian T-54 tanks were spotted on the echelons. The Russian army began to use the T-54A and T-54B tanks, two echelons with these tanks were noticed by eyewitnesses. I'm no military strategist, but it seems like if you're reduced to using 60+ year old tanks, things are not going the way you planned.

Plus all those tank would need a rework before they can put into use. It's like the Leo 1 that belgium company have, engine, transmission and suspension all needed to be rework before they can be put in the field, and then the guns also need to rewoprk and retune.

They may have 10000 old T-62/T-55 tanks in storage (I actually doubt that number) but the number they can use is extremely small, because you most likely need to cannibalise them, l so maybe 4 in 1 would ever work again.

Tanks are used as assault guns in this war. The older models like T-55, T-62, M48, M60 are sufficient.
