Well there is a reason why Istanbul is one of the safest cities in his size, also Turkey generally is quite safe.Its bad really, more police = more control by government. None of them countries would have been on a list to visit/live before I saw this list, the only one I would consider is Italy but having visited there its a generally violent and dirty place and Portugal is quite dodgy, the other countries on that list arent exactly known for their friendliness and acceptance, theres a reason the countries are so heavily policed.
It only becomes a problem when police starts to act like in a wild west movie and starts to use tazers and life fire against unarmed people like in the US. Which is one of the unsafest places to be, where people fear police more than a robber.
That's ridiculous. The people who should fear the police are the ones who point a weapon at them and think nothing is going to happen.
I'd like to challenge any of the posters here with a US location flag but a foreign country flag if they fear the US police.
Ohh yes sure only the bad guys... not like US mafia cops are prone to kill any black teenager for no reason, or torturing diplomats like in this video..
