The Russian president met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, who arrived in Moscow for talks about the state of Russian-Turkish relations.

Russia and Turkey have other arms sales projects in the works apart from the S-400 air defence system deal, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, speaking at the opening of a meeting of the Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council on Monday.

Putin stressed that the completion of the $2.5 billion contract to deliver Russian-made S-400s to Turkey is presently the top priority when it comes to military-technical cooperation between the two countries.

"There are serious tasks facing our countries when it comes to strengthening cooperation in the military-technical sphere. First and foremost, we are talking about the completion of the contract to supply Turkey with the Triumf S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems," Putin said.

"There are other promising projects on the agenda related to the supply of modern Russian defence products to Turkey," Putin added, without specifying what these might be.

S400 done deal and S500 on agenda

if the US block sale of F-35 to Turkey
then Turkey should buy 50 SU-34 or MIG-35 with Turkish Systems to replace F-4s
also 30 SU-35 with Turkish Systems for air superiority

Turkey bought T-129 Attack Helcopter platform and technology from Italy
so T-129 Attack Helcopter is belong to Turkey and T-129 uses Turkish Systems and weapons
Now Turkey develops 100% indigenous ATAK-2 heavy Attack Helicopter

Yep , Its look like some of our Turkish brother still didn't understand the reality ...

as far as I observed Turkey military industry , they have always good outcome but in most cases , they always imported most critical parts of their military equipment from foreigner countries ... like their Altay Tank is using German engine ( which if I'm correct , Germany stop supplying Turkey with engine ) or their Chopper is using American engine and their palned Stealth fighter program is going to use American or UK turbofan engine ( which I doubt USA or UK really sell them , they just playing with turks and in the end , they would never sell them anything just like F-35 program that they used Turkish cash in their project , now they don't really want to give F-35 to Turkey ) ...

so although Turkey has good military industry with a lot of potential but the western didn't let Turkey to become independent in all field and they keep Turkey dependent on key parts specially , engine .

now they will misuse this as political and military leverage against Turkey ....

reality check ... we start shafagh project even before Pakistan start their F-17 project and we even managed to make first prototype but when everything was good , Russians withdraw from project and even didn't agree to sell us RD-33 ( which is their oldest and most basic turbofan engine ) and then we stuck with F-5 variant for almost 20 years because we still can't make reliable and economical turbofan engine and no one is selling us reliable turbofan engine in great number .... the reality of world is ugly ...

Turkish TEI TS1400 Turboshaft gas turbine Engine for Helicopters will be ready in a few years

and BMC develops Engine for ALTAY Tank
in 2018 TRMOTOR has signed an agreement to develop Turbofan Engine for TFX Fighter Jet
( Turkey has technology to develop turbofan engine similar to American GE-F110 engine)

TULOMSAS TLM6 1.000 hp diesel Engine for national Locomotive

TEI having started its manufacturing activities with 12 parts in 1985, currently manufactures over 800 components for 40 different Engine programs with its more than three decade experience in part and module manufacturing

-- Rotating Parts (Shaft, Seal, etc.)
-- Modules (Power Turbine Module, Front Bearing Structure Module, etc.)
-- Fabricated Parts (Mixing Duct, Swirl Frame, etc.)
-- Structural Parts (Intermediate Casing, HPT Casing, Combustion Casing, etc.)
-- Blisk and Spool Manufacturing (Compressor Stg 1 - Stg 5 Blisks, HPC Spool Shaft Stg 10, etc.)

Blisk and Spool Manufacturing Technologies

Blisk and spool manufacturing technologies, recently being used on new generation engines, are regarded as state of the art and advanced level applications for aviation industry which are high tech manufacturing methods currently employed in only a few countries around the world and Turkey is one of them

TEI PD-170 Engine for ANKA UAV made maiden flight
- 158 kg
- 170 hp
- 30.000+ feet altitude

TEI PG-50 Engine ( 50 hp ) for KARGI Anti radiation Drone project ( similar to Israeli HARPY-2 )

Gas turbine engines are the top of the engineering efforts so It is unfortunate Iran lacks behind in aircraft programs with engine blockage issued by Russia. There is not much alternatives If you want to procure a reliable turbofan engine so World is extremely dependent to a few suppliers. Turkey will also be dependent on West until Turkish efforts reach success. Turkish institutes took impressive measures in manufacturing processes of gas turbine engines and SSB has crowned institutes with billion$ domestic programs that knowledge gained will be transfered to those programs to reveal many state of art national turbofan, turboprop engines that will meet the power reqrements of Turkish aircraft programs. We will see some solid developments in following years.

Iran have its engine program going hope to see results soon ( they have Reverse Engineered rd_33 for now ) because in 4 year Iran will make its first Passenger plane and heavy fighter jet. fingers crossed. gooo Turkey :-)

Who said russian military arms are rubbish ?
I never said Russian military arms are rubbish
even Russian military technology is ahead of Europe and China
and S-400,S-500 are the best land based Air Defense Systems in the world to counter Fighter Jets , Strategic Bombers and AWACSs

well , I hope good fortune for you ( as far as you don't threaten us our our interest ) .... we are making Gas turbine for years but there is some difference between gas turbine and reliable turbo fan or turbo shaft engine ....
India is making Gas turbine but their first made Turbo fan engine ( which they spend decades to develop ) still doesn't reach the minimum acceptable specification to be used in a fighter .... China has same issue although they are far ahead of India and Iran in this field ...
The devils in details ...
so if you want to put foot in harder path of total Independence , you should except stalling of your project and too much effort but little outcome for years ... so you should have very very good patient and spend so much to gain so little ....

Russia won't give any of its technology to Turkey ... they didn't give any technology to China and you except them to give engine technology to an official NATO member !?

They do not need to... The Turkish Defence Industry can upgrade/modify it as long as there is up-to-date platform like A-129.

The related threads in Turk Section can give the extent of upgrade/modification that can be done by The TDI, as done on some Russian vehicles in third parties inventories.

Turkey doesnt need helicopter engine technology
TEI develops TS1400 Turboshaft gas turbine Engine for Helicopters

Russians says that Russia-Turkey can co-develop Helicopters based on Russian platforms with Turkish systems for military and civilian market

Russians wants to use Turkey's soft power for export Helicopters to Islamic world

Turkey has its own T-129 , ATAK-II Attack Hellicopters , T-625 and 10-12 ton class utility Helicopter projects

Turkey has Helicopter technology

-- mission computer
-- Helicopter electronic warfare system
-- electronic and avionic systems
-- AVCI Helmet integrated cueing system
-- 30mm gun
-- CIRIT 70mm laser guided Rocket
-- MIZRAK anti Tank Missile
-- MILDAR fire control radar
