Russia Tops Standings at World Tank Biathlon Championship 2014

Winning for us is secondary. It is about showing solidarity and support to our Russian friend. You see, my Vietnamese friend, you continue to disrespect Russia while boasting that you are Russia's BEST FRIEND. LOL

We leave the title "Russia's Best friend" to you. OK?
Best friend come to competition not for winning ...

.
Which parts is ''World'' when only 12 countries(all Russian tanks)competing?
If U.S. plus several western European countries or Japan, whatever, could be viewed as " World", off course China plus Russia and other 10 countries could also be viewed as " world". The earth has survived for billions of years without U.S., hasn't it?

.
Where is our Vietnamese friend in this competition? I thought Russia is your friend. Why aren't you showing support by showing up?
we have some 2,300 tanks, but they are old models. it is embarrassing if we participated.

. .
We should have sent Arjun Mk 1 to this compettion, though we have sent T 90s.

  • Russia claimed victory at the second heat of the 2014 Tank Biathlon world championship, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press service said Wednesday.

“On the current stage [of the competition] Russian Federation came first [with the result of] 26 minutes 27 seconds, the Republic of Kazakhstan came second [with the result of] 30 minutes 14 seconds and the Republic of India was the third [with the result of] 31 minutes 26 seconds,“ said the chief judge of the competition, Lt. Gen. Yury Petrov was quoted by the press service as saying.

Petrov added that the final results of the individual race would be announced after the third heat on Wednesday.

According to Petrov, the main draw of Wednesday’s race is the competition between the Russian crew led by Sgt. Bulat Tsyrenov competing with the T-72 tank and the Chinese crew with their Type 96A tank.

Tank biathlon is a mechanized military sport invented in Russia. It is designed to be very similar to the regular biathlon. Competing teams need to overcome several obstacles like a slalom section, a ford, a steep hill, a panel bridge and an escarpment and hit targets simulating tanks and low-flying helicopters.

The current competition, which began on August 4, takes place in Alabino just outside Moscow.

How long have you been using the T-72, and do you like this machine?

We have been working with this type of tank since 1979. This is a very good tank.

What are its main advantages in your opinion?

First of all, it's the tank’s good armour protection, as well as its high power output.

How many days have you had in order to prepare for the competition in Russia?

In Russia I had about three weeks. We also had a lot of preparations at home.

Are the machines you use in India somehow different from the machines on which you trained here, and on which you are going to compete?

There are no particular differences. The communication systems are slightly different.

Were the Tank biathlon participants in India recruited from ordinary soldiers, or do you have some special subdivisions for such purposes?

A selection was made from several regiments, the best of them were selected, from whom the crews were formed.

T-72B3M tank hit China N.o809 ZTZ96A tank's load wheel in race compition, that's why N.o809 tank down there and another China tank N.o806 spent some minutes to replace its position.

It's unfair race in this compition, i think China team adapt the result coz there's no any unfaire in a real tank battle.

Better to win, but also need to accept the fact including other competitor hit our tank in the race.
