^^ P-17A are likely to had Aegis and a 3D AESA MSTAR radar (like on Kolkata class) to boot!! Also by time P-17A and P-15B are commissioned they will be equipped with IN's MRH (likely S-70B/MH-60R) adding yet more teeth!!

Any additional Talwars will be made by Pipavav shipyard (not in Russian yards as is being talked about here!) The JV info between Rosoboronexport and Pipavav is available in open source. Yantar would provide technical expertise as required.

As regards any modifications, while the hull form will remain the same, there will in all likelihood be some changes on the weapons and sensor fit as deemed necessary. The most logical upgrade would be VL Shtil complex as opposed to arm launcher.

No, we have signed a protocol with the Russian Government agency which is responsible for the defence cooperation with India and this protocol allows the construction of 4 stealth frigates for Indian Navy. The Russian Government agencies have built 3 stealth frigates already for the Navy and they are building another 3 at the Russian yard.

They have been to our yard and they have approved our capacity and capability and they have approved Pipavav as the only yard where they would like to build the next 4 frigates for the Indian Navy. So typically each frigate has a ballpark figure of 7000 crore to 8000 crore. So the 4 frigates as and when these get built could cost overall about 30000 to 32000 crores.

Talwar class was supposed to have 6 Ships from the very beginning. Nothing new in this.
It will be interesting to see which ship IN selects as next. Gen. Frigate... P-17-A and P-15B are as crucial as P-75-I..

Our PSU shipyards may be overbooked but not the private shipyards. GoI must give this to the private players, they will make a far better ship than Russia at lower cost.
