Why did they blast of the budha statue?

The UN visited an orhanage in afghanistan and when asked for funding by the taliban they where there was no funds avaliable in the UN budget.
The UN team then asked to visit the bamiyan buddhas.The taliban gave them a tour and then where told that after seeing the condition of the statues the UN (world heritage) would release money for the repair of the statues.
This enraged the taliban who had a just point that the UN can save the statues but not the children.
If you recall the whole muslim world including the saudis who sent a team from mecca to convince the taliban to change there mind.
It was not right what the taliban did but the reason they had was not given media attention only that they where crazy muslims trying to rid the world of idols.

I agree that Pakistan is almost acting like a servant of the USA but better that then Irac2... I would prefer a democractic elected government that is not corrupt but since when do we have that? Neither India nor Pakistan have governments that feed all people... One side you have the military and theo other side you have corrupt politicians... Not much left.

If i may speak for Bull's behalf. I think it was very obvious what i posted, and i would say this, i did not think it necessary to post examples as what you posted was a flame bit, yet i did. What YOU said was nationalism and not what any1 else has said in return. You said something completely out of line with reality, its actually quite the reverse of what u said. If you post flame bits , then expect flaming responses. Even if you want to post something that would evoke strong reactions, atleast post something which is factually right. What you posted was completely reverse of what the truth is. I dont think Bull needed to give examples in this case.

I would rather chose corrupt politicians, there are corrupt politicians in every country, they get caught and they get punished in most cases. As there are honest politicians there too. Corruption is a very very lame a'ssed excuse for having military dictatorship.

My point was that attacking nations and being intolerant is not confined to muslims but that in history every nation has done the same thing regardless of religion/race.

You can build a mosque/temple in majority of the christian majority nations.You can carry out protests voice your concerns.

Muslim egypt has about 6 million christians that have been living there for over 1800 years.
Muslim syria where about 15% of the population are christian.
muslim lebanon where there was about 45% christians population but has went down to about 35% during the civil war but is now increasing.
Palestinian christians have been living in peace with muslims for centuries.
Tunisia,algeria and morrocco all have christian community's living in there mist for a long time.
Iraq as you must know was run by the bath party which was co founded by a arab christian Michel Aflaq.I think tariq aziz was also a christian.
I can carry on with facts about christians and muslims but i think you get my point.

I have never encouraged the behaviour of BRF or PDF, for me both are the same when it comes to intolerence, but BRF is way ahead in intelligence.
