Just Trump wanting to show he is a big boy that's it

China is testing an intercontinental-range hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV), according to written testimony submitted to the US Senate Armed Services Committee on 13 February 2020 by US Air Force General Terrence J O’Shaughnessy, commander of US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) and of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).
Although Gen O’Shaughnessy did not identify any specific weapon programme – saying only that the weapon “is designed to fly at high speeds and low altitudes, thus “complicating” the US ability to provide “precise warning” – he was likely referring to a weapon different from the DF-17 HGV-carrying ballistic missile that was exhibited at China’s National Day Parade on 1st October 2019 in Beijing.

If this turns out to be true, the Chinese are way way more ahead of the US.

We’re talking about CONVENTIONAL class weapons that require much higher PRECISION than nuclear capable glide bodies. The US successfully tested a 4,000 km CONVENTIONAL hypersonic weapon last month. An intercontinental range hypersonic nuclear weapon doesn’t change the game at all because China already has the capability to nuke the US. And has China already tested this at intercontinental ranges? Because I have seen no evidence it has.

Meanwhile the US moves ahead with a conventional triad of hypersonic weapons, and soon enough will be deployed to the Western Pacific. This is a gamechanger for the US military in the Pacific.

You do realize those are fiberglass mockups right?

That’s not to say the DF-17 doesn’t exist, but those are mockups and would never be combat capable in that configuration.

You talk more and more like India day by day, so basically you are just a fancy version of India like I figured out:rofl:

The US just successfully tested a 4,000km hypersonic glide body last month that will be integrated on US Army ground launchers and US Navy Block V Virginia subs. Is that “talk” to you?

That's retarded, the US is already behind Russian and Chinese hypersonic capability. In 5 years those systems will have just entered service (that's a big if) while Russia and China would have already deployed and been producing Hypersonics for half a decade already.

Since we are behind and Russia is ahead. Then there are no need for talks then.

Hypersonic missiles are a hyped-up nonsense. They're completely redundant for countries with nuclear weapons. All they're really designed to do is to add BILLIONS to the bank accounts of Lockheed, Northrop and Boeing at the expense of the poor, dumb, obese American taxpayers. The Russians and the Chinese are also making the same mistake but not at such a catastrophic level as the US. The take-away here is that people of the world need to WAKE THE FVCK UP.
