Forget about S-300, be happy with Mi-35 or possible Mi-28 yet. Russian lifting arms embargo never means a clear hand but point of debate to force India get back from Western weapons hub.

That's not Soviet KGB era therefore policy of SVR has been changed notably since Evginy Primakov, who advocates not to jeopardize particular relations or new relations because of time-tested or historical relations even if they are adversaries.

Other hand Pakistan fails to achieve any sort of agenda on their list. They wanted US to support them in Kashmir, US did but with quarter heart. We asked Soviets to see Baluchistan, they created BLA. So you have to be more aware what exactly and how exactly you want to do. The biggest success of Pakistan in the last seven decades is just Nuclear bomb that's all. But then Americans realized that they have done a mistake. And now tackling Syria, Iran, NK.

It will be a blunder for Russians to lose an economic partner , and Pakistan is in no state to substitute India in the eyes of Russians. Rather Modi's visit to China will give a new dimensions to Indo-Sino- Russian relationship.

Where is mentioned in my post that trade volume of Pakistan is superior than India?
US has no impact on strategies of Pakistan even if US is forced by India through trade channels. That's what we are observing. Kashmir has another topic should be discussed in related thread therefore that's important to remind you that US's willing to resolve Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir is known to us long time ago.

If according to you Russia is supporting BLA then that's not in their long term interests since situation has been changed though Russia is well aware of counter-productivity of its adventure and almost sick to handle it in own territory.

Please do not forget that US sent its fleet to deter Indian adventure inside your territory. That good was the relation of Pakistan with the US.
Where as India still enjoys very good relation with the Russians. It is not just about weapons, but support at UNSC, G20, etc So if Pakistan day dreams of getting India knocked out with its weapon procurement from Russia, well it is a very bad idea.
