Russia ready to offer India the MiG-35 to replace the Rafale fighter jet

Mig-35 was shortlisted for a reason along with the F-18SH.
but it must be mighty tempting since India already operates the Mig-29/K

Nope the Mig-35 is a capable fighter but is now where near the Rafael or the EFT when it comes to being multirole

Again?
I think Russia doesn't need to show such desperation.
.

Don't you think it's a little to late for that

Nope, the older zhuk ae does but has a peak power of only 3-4 kw and only 640 t/r elements with paltry 150 km-200 km search range, possibly even less.

In other words not optimal for present, let alone future needs.

Fga-35 with 1000 t/r elements has been on trials for quite some time but with russians putting 0 orders till date for mig-35 and preferring su-30sm to it,u know the reasons well

Arre to kab ayaa :woot::woot:

No I didn't, that's why I asked you if you think IAF would accept naval fighters and the Mig 29K is very different from the Mig 35 proposed in the MMRCA.
I am not looking at this through the requirements of the MMRCA, I dont see why Mig 29K's wont fit IAF's bill, they pretty much have everything Mig29 Upgs' would, and engine refit for commonality would be a good stop gap measure, and a very cost effective one too. More importantly, Mig29K production line is open, thus it will be an extremely short lead time to procure K's instead of Mig35's,. I am surprised that Mig29UPG did not pick a Zhuk-A AESA though.

Because the UPG is just an upgrade to, keep the available Migs viable for the next 10 to 15 years and aimed on the western boders! For the eastern boders they don't play any role and the Mig 29K airframe is modified to implement the larger engine and in future the larger radar, that's not possible with the old Mig 29 airframes, besides that it would be a huge waste of money to upgrade them with costly AESA for such a short time frame.

Mig 21 - Replacement with Tejas 1 and 2

Mig 27 - Replacement with Mig 35

Jags and Mirage - Replacement with AMCA from 2024-2026

Su 30 MKI - Upgraded to super Sukoi and later replaced with FGFA .

Rafale is not the only fighter of its capability . We need to move on . It's too costly for buy and maintain . Better we can buy 45 Rafale from France for our Nuclear task for or for special missions . But even for this job SU34 with its long range of nearly 2200 miles only with internal fuel and 12 T of play load carrying capability will be a best fighter bomber for India .

No no for the Rafale from me . Why keep crying about Rafale when they don't give a damn about our concerns

.
The Mig-29 was introduced wayyy back in 1983, the basic airframe design is 32 years old! We need a modern fighter not one that is based on a design developed a generation ago!

Nope, main reason is that zhuk-ae is a piece of shyte and fga-35 is not ready yet.
