New Delhi: Russia is keen that India buys its
MiG-35 fighter aircraft, a top Russian official said. The Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG (RAC MiG)
has proposed to India to consider the possibility
of concluding a contract on the supply of the
MiG-35 multipurpose fighter jet, RAC MiG Director
General Sergei Korotkov told Itar-Tass in an
interview. "Despite the fact that we lost the tender for the
supply of 126 multipurpose fighters to the Indian
Air Force, the RAC MiG fulfilled all the
requirements set the tender committee,"
Korotkov said. "The aircraft has demonstrated
good results, sometimes even exceeding expectations." According to him, the corporation hopes that
"India will consider the possibility of concluding a
contract on the supply of the MiG-35 fighters." "And we will have the opportunity to implement
it," he said. "Within this bundle of knowledge that
India received during this tender, I would like the
MiG-35 issue to be continued against the
background of our common history and 50 years
of partnership." According to preliminary information, the winner
of the tender for the supply of fighter aircraft to
the Indian Air Force was the French Dassault
Rafale. However, neither party has announced
the official timeframe of the contract conclusion. "This year the next batch of four aircraft will be
delivered," said the head of the MiG Aircraft
Corporation. He also took part in the celebrations to mark the
50th anniversary of the start of the Soviet MiG-21
fighters' deliveries to the Indian Air Force. The agreement on the supply of the MiG-21
planes to India was signed in 1962, and the
deliveries began a year later. In 1967, the Indian
company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)
handed over to the Indian Air Force the first
MiG-21 fighter that was built here under the USSR license.
Russia ready to negotiate with India on MiG-35 fighters

.
Mig 35's are out of the race and I dont think they are comming back at least on the MMRCA deal.

. . .
Not a bad aircraft at all, but doesn't make any sense replacing it with Rafale. A separate acquisition? Maybe.

. . . . .
No need of MiG-35. Rafale currently is best 4.5 gen. plane, neither mig-35 assembly line open nor it is fully ready mode it is testing plane which mean more delay. In rafale we are already finalize so many think with France.

.
Cant we negotiate side by side. As per my info russia where in delhi from last 1 year for mig35

Not only from last year dude. from 2009 onwards russia trying hard to push its mig35. yes we can negotiate for that. but what about funds. yes afer 2015 or 2016 funds are not going to be a big problem for us. because that our annual expenditure in 2016 for new procurements wil be around 20+bill$ from the current 12-13bill$. so we can expect that after 2 years and also that will happen either because of political pressure or any dramatic changes in IAF's threat perception. otherwise it won't. but ruaF crossed its half way in mig35 procurement.surely russian air will surely buy. so future of mig35 is not bad. and you can more improvents in that aircraft once RuaF ordered it. And if that improvements meets IAF requirment's, then also there will be a chance for it in IAF.but at present we barely need rafale only. And big NO for mig35.

From last year they are very much active. Well in india negotiation takes almost more than 3 years. If we are planning to buy it. Then we should start it now

No dude. these negotiation troubles will not happen in russian fighters, and if we need mig35 then no need for global tender procedure which makes the negotiations hard, we can directly approach with intergovernmental communications and russia is ready to co operate with HAL or NAL and they won't go in favor of indian private companies, but first RuaF has to give order. otherwise there wont be any production unit for mig35 that would heavily delay aircraft delivery and also you can't expect any improvement than current one. so first let the RuaF to order.so we can expect some improvements too and later we may go for mig35 but not now. sure its a cheap when compared to others and no restrictions in ToT and also its maintainence is 20-25% lower than the mig 29. but now rafale only. i too love this fighter more than rafale but rafale is better than this currently, so we can wait to see its future in IAF.

SU-35 would be better. Isn't it?

no need for su 35 dude. our super su30 mki will be equal to su 35.

.
isn't rafale better for our needs??? anyways, the air force has to decide..
