What's new

Russia no longer a superpower: US

you come up with the same comment in about 20 different threads and been given a clear answer all those times, yet you continue to post the same stupidity

even Ukraine didn't do anything about Crimea, why is US obliged to take action when they have no treaties , no economic relations whatsoever.

if Ukraine was in NATO , it would of been a completely different story

as for Scarborough Shoal in 2012 , Philippines never asked for US assistance and stated multiple times if the mainland was under a threat or an actual confrontation took place US would assist in any way possible.

Why do you comment if you have no idea of what you are talking about?

Russia GAINED territory, i.e. Crimea in 2014.

China GAINED territory, i.e. Scarborough shoal in 2012.

These are the only two parties that have actually gained territories. You can bury your head in the sand all you want, it won't change this basic fact.

Your dear USA could have stopped both things from happening (in fact they were obligated to do so by mutual defence treaty), but they didn't give a sh*t. They aren't going to fight a nuclear war with Russia or China for their pawns, nobody with a brain thinks they will do that.

Every time you answer, your answer is senseless. You can't wish away the fact that Russia and China are gaining territory from US allies and friends while they sit back and laugh along.

America gains as well from abandoning their allies, because their allies become even more dependent on them than before. It serves their interests too, their allies have no other choice.

So as usual, the major powers all gain something, and the losers are the vassal states and pawns of the major powers. All dreaming that America will come to their rescue, all abandoned equally.

oh thanks , thought Russia lost territory when they took over Crimea , how does that change what I said?

Ukraine is not an ally to US , both parties have 0 economic relations , 0 defense pacts
like I said , it would of been a completely different story if Ukraine was part of NATO

and I already explained the Scarborough Shoal incident , but it seems your brain can't comprehend even basic comments.

Philippines never requested US assistance and US was ready to step in if the actual confrontation occurred.
you should get that fact through your thick skull.

I don't know why you have an expectation of US just stepping in randomly for their allies (Ukraine wasn't even a US ally) when they don't even request assistance.

Russia is laughing , well I wouldn't be laughing if the economy was/is in recession.

What an extremely poor excuse, which no doubt explains why your posts are riddled with personal attacks, because you can't do anything else.

America had plenty of reason to step in and stop the Philippines from losing their territory (mutual defence treaty) and Ukraine from losing their territory (1994 agreement to protect the Ukraine's territorial integrity).

But they didn't. Because nobody cares about pawns.

You think America is going to fight directly against Russia and China for their pawns? Then they had plenty of chances already, every time they chose to abandon their allies and friends.

They are a master chess player and they aren't going to sacrifice their own lives in a nuclear war for some pawns that they don't even like. Even if they liked their pawns, they still wouldn't.

And about the laughing comment, I wasn't talking about Russia. I'm talking about America, they are laughing too, that their pawns think they will die on their behalf. They don't need to lift a finger to help, and their allies become even more desperately dependent on them.

America gained in this scenario, Russia gained territory, China gained territory. All the major powers gained. Guess who lost? The pawns.

In defense of the pawns - most queens were pawns at one time - China should know that well having been a former pawn itself.

Absolutely, and when you are a pawn, you don't try to play games against the major powers and expect to gain from it.

Ukraine tried, Georgia tried, the Philippines tried (all in the past few years).

All of them lost territory. Interestingly, all of them were also American allies and/or friends, and they believed America would help them.

Now they are all looking at their maps and wondering, why didn't America help us?

True but paws don't become queens without taking risks, most die but some - the very few ascend to the higher level.

It is just the bell curve my friend - there is only so much room at the top - one just has to be smart and ruthless

Russia will evolve from this situation stronger than ever they have seen worst and they don't fear anything now with strong backing from India and China in support. They have nothing to fear.

.
so basically super power status needs the approve of US stamp and issue certificate? what a maniac mentiality of US!!!

.
...like ignoring the largest nuke stockpile...
This is stupid, and I say that kindly.

Look at it this way...

If I tell the neighborhood that I have a machine gun in my house, would that make me any friends ? Not likely.

What do friends do ? They go out with each other voluntarily. They help each other for pizzas and beers. They respect boundaries. In other words, they share many things in common with each other in ways that make them feel comfortable around each other.

Countries are not that much different. Large amounts of weapons are not the usual attractants. What are ? How about economic opportunities ? Respect for law and order as a sign of a civilized people ? The list of what a country attractive to outsiders is long on non-military items. A 'superpower' got that way by convincing -- not hinting of a threat -- other countries that there are common interests and that cooperation, like friends usually do, is the best way to get things done.

No, we did not ignore Russia's nuclear stockpile. We just decided that weapons alone do not make a superpower. But then again, I am not one bit surprised that you -- a Chinese -- deliver to the fore weapons, and the worst kind at that, as the best indicator of what is a 'superpower'. Your government views itself and the rest of the world in the typical 'us v them' context for so long that no wonder that worldview came so easily to you.

You can call any country a 'superpower'. No need for our approval. Your opinion is just as good as ours.

Check your statement, idiotic, as usual. It's about the stupid saying Russia "no longer a superpower".
  • So when they "were" still superpower, did they hand out pizzas & beers? You have no idea of Budapest, Prague, try compare that with Crimea, Ukraine, Syria.
  • If answer to above is NO, how come not "hand out pizzas & beers" made them loose superpower status now? Be literate would you, now you already in US.

See you statement:
  • Economic opportunities, non-military, respect of law (international law and order by UNSC, not US), sounds civilized.
  • Remember Bay of Pigs? Everyone see how US use "economic opportunities", "non-military means" to "convince" Panama, Grenada, Cuba, Iraq & Libya, very "civilized" and "convincing" aren't they. Are you a joker or just completely illiterate, which one are you?

Well I am not surprised that you - now an American came from a delusional superpower - spew all the illiterate low intelligence self-contradicting "bread & beers" and "economic convincing" non-sense, with a ugly motive to derail any thread to the course of hating China.

You hate is fine, we don't care. Just (1) post literate statements, your idiocy is not entertaining anyone (2) stay on topic, do not hijack threads for your own selfish agenda.

Neither. But one thing is certain: Am smarter than you, kid.

Any serious student of geopolitics would have a hearty laugh at chess allegory.

Napoleon hit it right on the head: '...to know a nation's geography is to know its foreign policy'

It is not chess or poker or go. The word 'geopolitics' is politics, internal and external, influenced and even dictated by geography. Read Kaplan (foreign affairs) or Sowell (economics). Neither Russia nor your China had any real friends, just fearful neighbors who will comply out of the need for survival. Both of your countries today are shaped by your geographies and histories. Russia under Putin acts the way she acted out of the need for security, not because of chess. Same for your China. Neither of you have any real friends the way the US does in Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, and practically half of the EU.

What chess? That's lame, you are out of argument. And what "kid"? Mind your manner.
@waz @Slav Defence @WebMaster

Explain:
  • Your "bread & pizza" theory related to this thread i.e. "Russia no longer being a superpower"
  • How you see US using "economic opportunities" & "non-military" means on Grenda, Iraq, and the likes, that makes US different from Russia, hence making US a superpower, while Russia isn't.
If you cannot justify the above, then either your are illiterate, or just a joker.
