What's new

Russia may set up 20-24 nuclear energy units in India: Envoy

Russians have transferred lethal sub tech and torpedos to China. Their nuke tech is not great when it comes to safety.

thats just a western propaganda, who had more nuclear accidents Russian tech or western tech.

I am not against import of technology which we don't have,

I am asking to buy only those which we don't have
Not the whole reactor contract..
Even the reactors, our 750MW reactors are still very new and need testing, while Russia has far better 1000MW units which are already tested and proven. Rather than waiting for our own, he have to swallow our pride and sign these deals since we currently can't make these things.

Expected one from Russia . Hope they milking the cow policy will have prominent tot as well . Sick of their doldrums on transferring advanced technology. Only god knows we got our full tot of T 90 till date

ahahahhahahaha......seems you are one of the few members on here who knows very well Russia's foreign policy. Kudos:enjoy:

I don't think any one likes us so much that they will help us with Indeginous tech Stability

That will change we are developing thorium class reactors which will be far more advanced & safer than these Uranium reactors
The great thing is that only India & China are developing these type of reactors

The first of the long list of deals coming up in a week.

So this maybe a way to put pressure on US and if that happens then India will definitely prefer US tech and if that happens it will piss Russians off big time

None of that. Russia, Canada, France and USA have already signed up to supply Nuclear Power Plants if they meet Indian conditions. While Australia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Congo have signed up to provide Uranium for the fuel.
Now it is upto India to tie-up the deals that it sees fit. :)

Along with one for the Borei? :D

There have been only two accidents in nuclear power plants - one in Ukraine (then part of the USSR), and one on three mile island in the USA. So the answer to your question would be that the number is the same. Then there was also the tsunami induced disaster in Fukushima, Japan recently.

In any case, technology has advanced a lot since then, so there is no point in judging safety or reliability on the basis of those incidents.

which accident now turns out to be quite serious... ( Fukushima radiation killing our children, govt hides truth - former mayor — RT News )...
According to Idogawa there are about two million people residing in the prefecture who are reporting “all sorts of medical issues,” but the government insists these conditions are unrelated to the Fukushima accident. Idogawa wants their denial in writing.

@Nihonjin1051 what is the awareness in japan about this??
