Russia lifts ban, Iran to get S 300

Putin needs a big war in Middle East in order to increase oil barrel prices and avoid Russian economy self-collapse. Putin is the worst enemy of Russian people. Somebody should stop these criminals and their genocidal plans.

How about insted you teach me with your infinite knowledge on the Iranian defence industry. Tell me, which systems did Iran develop that is on par with S-300. Hint: Incase you might have missed it, but Bavar is not even developed yet.
Developed...long ago...on the way to put in service...Just wait...

German newspapers confirm news, saying "Russia deliver S-300 System to Iran"

@ yavar:

1) Did Iran not already get the money back (800mln USD), not talking about the 4bln USD penalty.
2) Do Iran need the S-300 systems, or Iran overpass also the latest S-300 system (PMU-2?), please tell truth
3) What Iran will do now, if S-300 not needed? Negotiate for S-400/Antey 2500 or other stuff like Jak-130/Mig/Suchoi machines?
@Draco.IMF ....u heared that what russian BS said, s300 for iran and s400 for china...Really a BS...

Lol what, building EMP bombs take such a shitt ton of effort, money and development that no poor country can even afford to buy them, let alone build them. Though i would prefer Stand-off Jammers when against anti-air systems, Turkey had great succes with jamming Greek S-300 in the past, effectivly rendering them useless for a while. Dont know if Iran has such systems.
Which variant? if it was an new one then the Russians need to worry

. .
Well, the variant Iran had bought was PMU-1. Which is completely obsolete. Even the production line for PMU-2 was stopped in 2010: Putin lifts ban on delivery of S-300 missile systems to Iran — RT News

The only ones which are in production are Antey-2500 and the S-400.

At any rate, if Iran could get some of these systems (S-400 and Pantsyr-1), it would boost its defensive capabilities. S-300 though is ancient.

Greece has s300 and our air force jammed those systems with ease. I think for Israel it won't be a problem either. I think Russia wants to create problems for the west but only on the surface. If it sells real capable systems to Russia it can expect sanctions. These s300 are a quick buck for Russia but we still have to see if it goes through since they cancelled last time.

Probably over a dozen S-400 would be required to give overlapping and redundant coverage over all of Iran as well as a couple of hundred Pantsyr S-1 systems for point defense:

Iran must demand for S-400, If not, along S-300 we should see some transfer of technology in some projects of our R&D that are taking lots of our valuable time and money.

You lot can just reverse engineer it..

Don't be fooled by Russian nomenclature. S-400 is basically an upgraded S-300. The Russians like to rename their equipment after every upgrade.

Su-27 is the prime example. What is the differnce between Su-27 and Su-30 and Su-34 and Su-35? They are basically the exact same plane with various upgrades.

It's just a political maneuver by Russians.
There is no S-300 system to deliver:

The S-300 advanced air defense missile systems that Russia refused to deliver to Iran have now been completely dismantled and scrapped, the CEO of the company that built them said Thursday.

"The equipment that was to have been delivered to Iran is no more," Almaz-Antey Corporation's CEO Vladislav Menshchikov said. "We have dismantled it completely. Some elements, which could be used, have been used. Some have been scrapped."

Every contract is made for a particular client and cannot be adjusted to the requirements of another, he said.

"The makeup is different, the specifications are different, and the software is different," Menshchikov said.

Russia signed a deal in 2007 to provide Iran four S-300 batteries. Russia annulled the contract in 2010 due to concerns over its nuclear program. Iran filed a $4 billion lawsuit for compensation over the failed deal, which is pending review in an international arbitration court in Geneva.

Russian daily Vedomosti said in June, citing undisclosed Russian arms industry sources, that Russia had offered to provide Iran with Antei-2500 air defense systems, but the offer was never officially confirmed.

Anatoly Isaikin, the head of Russia's state-run arms export monopoly Rosoboronexport said in mid-August his agency had no plans to provide Iran with replacements for the S-300 missile defense systems that Russia had refused to deliver.

S-300 is a family of air defense missile systems capable of engaging aerial targets from helicopters to cruise and ballistic missiles. The more capable variants of the system would be capable of engaging aircraft far inside the airspace of neighboring states to Iran, according to analysts.

Israel, in particular, lobbied hard against the S-300 deal, according to Israeli media, over concerns that any Israeli air attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would be made far more dangerous if Tehran operated the system.

you are right. we are very good aware of how russian equipment work. The main point is if we need to receive something it should be upgraded one, not a obsolete type for a decade ago. they cant deliver the old model of S-300 that iran ordered in 2006.
