China has a lot of internal problems to deal with and not stupid enough to send troop to Vietnam now. They have much more serious enemies to face around their border and in deep see. Theoretically speaking, if Vietnamese can resist the war for 1 month then they will receive massive support from the world to counter China. Look, China cannot build the trustworthy relationship with its neighbors, naming Japan, South and North Korea, Pakistan, Indian and even with Russia (This country needs China to counter US but not really trust China as a longterm ally). What Vietnamese people should concern about is the strategy that China uses to gradually damage the country until they are able to completely control it. Traditional warfare is not an option for China.
Vietnam is a very honorable country. Like Imperial Japan, they will defend their country to the last man. They won independence from France. Caused too many casualties to the US, and pushed back the Chinese. If the Chinese were to invade they would have a tough war especially against guerrilla troops.
