I guess it's the right time for Pakistan to aquire Russian-made Su-30MK3(s) and jointly develop an efficient Air Defence Missile System with Russia. No need of worthless defence ties with the Yankees....it's all over!!! PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!

It will be kind of clever for the Pakistanis to ink a deal with the Russians.Probably it will make the Americans become nicer to them.It will be easier to do so too.No lobbying no congress or anything.

I have said it time and time again that Russian hardware is equally as good as its western counterpart and those who for any reason think otherwise are living in a fools paradise. Personally my favorite is the MIG-35. Love the jet.

russia has already upgraded and tested the s-300 to s-400 platform which india might also upgrade its s300 if i am not mistaken.

no offence sir but i was only responding to your post that pakistan is going for the s-300 from ukraine the idea was to just suggest that when s-400 is available then why go for s-300.

You ought to be---rudeness is such a disgusting manner of doing business with people from whom you want buy the defence related equipment that will save the behind of the citizens, the nation and the country one day. What " stupid school of idiotic national defence and profane throw at your face strategic defence show cash up front procurement studies school" did you go to?

CNN showed a tape of a pakistani buyer---he had been to the above mentioned school---an army major at that also---he was here to buy stinger type missiles in the 90's thru black market. It was a sting operation and whole of the conversation was on camera----the conversation that he had with the seller was full of profanity and vulgar throw at your face money type conversation. He didnot get too far.

Now try doing that to the present day russians.

Question is not which school i went to question is have you been to a school yourself.

It is not that the pilots of the arab nations were bad---it is for the reason that the russians only taught them to take off----fly and land----and in between some other minor training stuff.

If you send some of these same arab pilots for training in pakistan----they will be tearing some heads off.

So you mean to say is they baught the fighter jets and only learned how to land and take off for that they could have just baught comercial air liners and learn to do that making excuses dont mean truth can be changed.

Yes, S-400 is available but not to Pakistan. Pakista has to buy Chinese or old ex-soviet from CIS state or ukraine.

there are two parts to this equation

1. Even if the indian deal doesn't go good with the russian, they still have very strong ties and India is a major buyer of russian military hardware. So i don't think russia would be offering them to pakistan unless if pakistan is buying them in large numbers and even then its doubtful.

2. Suppose russia does offer them to pakistan, would pakistan want to buy them? I don't really think so for two reasons: 1. Russia would be equally unreliable if not more in case of war with india, and 2. we already have a base and manpower for maintenance of chinese and western hardware so unless we intend to go heavily the russian way it would be unfeasible to buy just one russian bird.

If pakistan-russia military ties improve, it would be for some other weapons, radar,engines etc that is, some other equipment and probably not jet fighters.
