biggest blunder Pakistan did was falling into western orbit when Russia was geographically much closer neighbour should have been neutral from the start and just let them handle Afghanistan and leave them to it Russia would have kept that place under control. Instead Pakistan allowed itself to be used a cannon fodder by the west and let the country to be flooded with weapons ,extremist propaganda and international militants.

The whole premise of Pakistan's involvement against the Soviet Union and I hear this again and again from a few ex-military family members is that they wanted ultimately to access warm waters. Well, we're giving it to them now through Gawadar so that strategy sucked anyway. Pakistan should've balance their policies towards both super powers.

Sergei Lavrov is viewed as a traitor to the Russian people because he wants a free and independent Russia, free from Western hegemony. putin like the netanyahu-modi-trump-putin alliance, as it puts Russia as a client state of Washington, unfree and sanctioned. Sergei Lavrov hates Russia because he wants a strong Russia that serves the Russian people, not NATO and other Western terrorists.

Sergei Lavrov is needed in that position to fool the Russians that putin cares about Russia. Sergei Lavrov is a true believer in defending Muslims and China from Western Aggression. putin is a fan of modi and netanyahu. Sergei Lavrov has no clue that putin is a traitor to the Russian people.

IMO Every democracy has to appeal to populism. This is how frustrating it is to develop a democracy because development needs to take some unpopular short term policies for long term objectives. I don't think any country because developed as a democracy.
