What has military relationship got to do with socialism and communal violence ??

These are the result of friendship with USSR and Russia. Look, its time for India to choose the route of capitalism or socialism. And its more than just international relationships, it affect India's domestic policy and economy more. But part of the transition to capitalism is to cut ties with the Soviets and draw closer to America and the west. Its time for India to integrate itself with the global economy.

Russia is not that much worried about India buying more military hardware from US and other countries. I am sure they very well know the programs they are running with us and that alone is more than what we buy fromn the rest of the world!!!..

Russians will have problem if India put Russia and US in the same basket with the same treatement and Russian ego is hurt.
We should never forget what they have done for us.

Soon, it will be time for India to dump Russia. If India wants to advance beyond socialism and communal violence, it need to be closer to the US. Inevitably, it would mean distance itself from Russia.

The quality of Russian products and spare parts problem along with delays in completing order are prime reasons why several military hardware contracts are given to US and European companies

The Russians need to keep the deadline, improve quality of their products and make sure there is no spare part problems and they will get contracts

Deals like the Vikrmaditya and the Chakra were delayed.....yes. But these cases are rare and often caused by unpredictable circumstances like the delay of the Chakra which was caused by the tragic accident with the fire system on board during the trials.

Look at the all the Talwar class frigates, the Sukhois, the T 90s or the Brahmos missiles which were all on time and are now backbones of our defence... they are now serving the nation very well.

Agreed, but its not like they are delaying with an intention to delay it. They dont know know teh rules of business are like the west does.

This is partially true,russia alone supplies absolutely high tech stuff others won't like 5th gen fighter,nuke sub.On the other hand they shouldn't delay orders or make maintainence problems.I think we both need to try little harder.

But still, Russia has been a very good friend of India and that what matters. Maybe India might need to talk with the Russians about such delays.

in $1.5 billion agreement , russia suppose to deliver yak 130 early next year. Now i heard that russia would not be able to give not even half squadron (8 units) yak 130 before 2015 (part of 24 yak130)

You can't compare Russia's capability with the Americans -If that's what you're saying. There's a big hack of a difference. Look, let's face it, the US will never give the Indians what they want especially when it's a country on the rise.

Not about deliveries but the fact the US isn't offering the levels of ToT India wants and also India doesn't want to put its national security at risk by going to the US products and all the sanction vulnerability this brings.
