Think there is more to this than meets the eye.

Assad has pretty much won the civil war and does not need Russia as much as he did back in 2015. Iran has already exposed Russian duplicity over handing over of codes for SAM systems etc.

This may be Russia trying to retain their position in Syria.

This whole Syrian war was about Russia from day one. Iran just came into the war as a bye product to get close to Israeli border and gain land route to Lebanon. USA NATO financed this war to throw Russia out of Syria but Russia is not going any where. In first gulf war Saudis and Syrian fought Sadam together for Kuwait.
Saudis interest was that they will lose Iraq with Saddam gone but will gain Syria but they lost all. Israel wants desperate access to Syrian air space to keep check on Iran. Now with Russian Jamming Iranian weapons will go into Lebanon uncontested.

This is a point of great concern for Israel. The combination of S-300 and jamming means pilots will only rely on their skills and fate to survive it is 100% no fly zone.

Russia's posted pic of tracking F-22 means stealth is also not an option now. All Russia has to do is lock on from their RADAR and make Syrians fire the missile.

Russians are now supplying Syria with s300 because s200 was too old and couldn't differentiate between isreali jet and downed Russian aircraft.

Israeli "darh hoshiyaari" have come back to bite them on their arse.

But not with S-300 plus Krasukha-4 this is a lethal combo.

With the jammer you will never know if there is a missile coming for you or not.

If the Russians supply a complete solution of network based SAM's which is what the General said they will supply then various systems linked will not be so easy to deal with. They struck a stand alone pantsir few months ago but in a network environment with various systems linked to a command centre will not be an easy.
