If you are relying on foreign countries for some basic things like ammunition, this will not make you superpower even in 200 years. You have the iron, you have the brass you have tons of copper, lead, everything. And you want to sell them to the market in cheap price and buy some basic equipments in 10 fold prices made of the same raw material. This is a crap policy.

If India does not relying on foreign suppliers or cooperations, than all Indian domestic projects would end up like Kavari.

Somethings inthe report do not add up.. It says that the expected price of 10,000 rocket launchers was INR 130,00,00,000. Whic means each rocket launcher was expected to cost INR 1.3 lakhs or USD 2500. I dont believe that's an accurate cost (unless you are buying a home made one )

On 2nd thought, this news could be legit. If Russia consider how India is over paying for indigenous systems like LCA and Arjun, than raising their price point by 10X is actually reasonable consider how Russia weapons' capabilities are much more advance than LCA/Arjun.

the point is credibility of our research. If there is good research in home and good outcome then any latest ammo or weapon can be produced at home without JV. But let us be honest, we lack in that, specially the testing beds and some other infrastructure. And not just India, almost every Asian country.

Not surprising you"d fall to this level of retardation. Indian ballistic missile program has very limited cooperation or foreign supplier role. Yet remains one of the most successful programs of Indian defence.

I do agree, but the point is not about failure. It is about learning from the project. No official claims that we are 100% indigenous but 90-95% is made in home. India does lack in many test facilities and infrastructure TBH.

Do you know that the cost of developing the Arjun MK1 Tank was Rs 380 Crore or 75 Million USD

While the estimated cost of developing LCA MK1 is Rs 8000 Crores or 1.6 Billion USD
Now compared to the developing cost of Rafale , Typhoon or F35 , which are over 50 Billion USD , so its quite a bargain
