Building bases in foreign nations are long term strategic projects.

Nobody goes to build bases over one incident of airspace violation.

well their base protects the Armenians, can't say if you can even consider an addition of few helis as a bigger threat.

I wouldn't be worried about russia, russia is choking to death and this is their way of trying "not to die", even India and China doesn't have that much land, russia needs to move over just a matter of time now.

Russia deployed MI-8 and MI-24 attack helicopters to Yerevan, 20 km to Turkish Boarder.
Also negotiations with Cyprus and Iraq are underway to build Russian bases.
Imagine Cyprus is an EU -member !

I would say Turkey , Azerbaijan hasn't really done anything for Russia to be sending a "message"

Agree, their economy is currently in recession , no real developments or alternative markets
their current energy customers are working hard to replace them , I wonder how 2016 will look like for Russia.

I haven't met enough Russians to be able to make conclusion on that. But a lot of people have hate for Muslims, we just have to deal with it.

I know people who grew up in Russia and they loved it and had no problems like that. The only issue was the economy so they left it.

A threat to Azerbaijan means threat to us. We have big natural gas project with Azerbaijan. And Turkmenistan will join this project %99. They have huge natural gas reserves.

What I don't understand is why is other Turkic countries not supportive to Turkey more like Azerbaijan is?

Are they too poor?
No good military?
They are more like russians?

I would expect a very strong and public support from them, we get more support from Ukraine now than the Turkic states.

If those Turkic states was anything like Azerbaijan we would together be a super power by now.

Russia:

• Supports Abkhazian and Ossetian separtist terrorists in Georgia
• Invades Georgia and split the country apart
• Supports Russian seperatist terrorists in Ukraine
• Invades Ukraine and illegaly annexed the Crimean peninsula
• Violates airspaces of others countries even when it was warned.
• Builds military bases on the Kuril Islands
• Supports Armenian occupation of Karabagh purely for having leverage over Azerbadijan.
• Intervering in Syrian conflict against the interests of most neighbouring countries
• And considering to build military bases in Cyprus and Iraq.

We ought to go to war with these people.

Well, Russia has been an aggressive/expansionist power for centuries now. How else do you think they became by far the worlds largest country by landmass? Its not by peace/love. lool It's by annexing/conquering other countries land/territory obviously like they did with China, Japan, Eastern European,Balkan and Scandinavian countries. etc. lol

Anyway, we know them quite well, since we have been playing such power games with them for a over a century, since the days of the 'GREAT GAME' in central Asia. Today that game seems to be ongoing yet again in Cyprus(Russia now wanting access to Cyprus base where Britain already had a military presence for over half a century now), in Syria where Russia is vying with Great Britain, France and the U.S for more space/influence, in the Balkans where Russia has been violating their airspace/provoking/intimidating these small defenceless countries reason U.K/Germany have already deployed soldiers/fighter jets to help these country patrol their airspace and stop Russian aggression, plus with Peaceful Sweden now wanting to join the U.K led joint expeditionary force for Europe. etc etc.

Putin's aggression/provocations ought to be met with a response/counter, else he will keep pushing his luck.

many of them are dictatorships, Russia has influence over them by supporting the regimes.
