Russia gave that money back and Iran later even sued Russia for damages since they broke the contract. Russia then offered some other system if Iran gave up the lawsuit. I don't know what happened after that.

That counter offer was for Antey-2500 . you see that offer only can be interesting if Russia agree to deliver the latest generation of the system and it's missile ,otherwise I believe it's not acceptable .

This Russian offer could be a maneuvering for the case pending in the European court, and may not be a genuine offer.

Iran should rush this deal ASAP. Even if they have to pay extra price, they should be ready for that. Because if Republicans take White House again, the sanctions may come back. So Iran should use the 2 years to arm itself.
