Just remember that it was Pakistan that joined US led CENTO and SEATO military pacts and Pakistan and China that supported the Afghan fasad against the Soviets that have resulted the mess today.

Either both or non of the praposed states will join SCO.
Russia will not oppoes Pakistan but will insist on India as without India the whole SCO will be a puppet in the hands of China & Russia dont want that.
if Pakistan joins & China opposes Indian entry we will soon see exit of Russia from SCO.

I am expecting India to join SCO in the near future with the help of Russia.

Joining any faction is dangerous... Pakistan is the living example of what happens when you take one specific side. We don't want to be like that.

Our foreign policy allows us to be friendly to both the worlds. Let's keep it that way.

When CENTO, SEATO, Non Nato major alley and Bahrain mercenery provider comments on an independent decision to be taken by very large, independent, strong nations like Russia and China and concerning a country that has followed an independent foreign policy even at material disadvantages for six decades and never hosted CIA spy planes and rented out airbases to Arab countries, its value can not be underestimated.

I think that it could cause a problem because Russia China Pakistan see America as a threat even other potential members like Iran would be anti American so India joining would have benefits but that would have to be weighed against it playing proxy for Nato and America
