If I am not wrong Rushdie hold Indian passport..either GoI should have the 'balls' to cancel the citizenship or should give protection to the citizens as any Govt do.

Rushdie holds PIO card, Person of Indian Origin, he doesn't need a visa to come to India. His tour was cancelled on security ground by surfacing a fabricated story of assassins.

The issue is not about religion but of the basic of all right ie. freedom of expression.The government which forces a writer to cancel his trip could tomorrow put me in jail for criticising their crown prince.This is how liberty dies.

On another note muslims should grow a thick skin.They are acting as, if their religion is not defended by force of arms it would perish.They go on rioting for most innane issues forcing most retrogressive laws on populace.They themselve destroy political power of liberal Indians who are their first line of defence.This is what mullah brigade wants.After all extremism feeds on extremism and Liberal-Secular polity is their common enemy.

i think u mentioned about Cheraman Perumal ...that conversion is a story ..not a historical fact ..None of the early or medieval travelers or historians ( Marco Polo, Friar Odoric, Friar Jordanus, Ibn Babuta, Abdur Razzak,) who visited Kerala has referred about this mosque their records.
