Ruble Hits 100 Against the Euro As Currency Collapse Accelerates

Russian international reserves assets decreased from $420.5 billion to $416.2 billion, according to the central bank. Are you saying that Russian central bank is not holding foreign reserves ?

But it wasn't the central bank that used that $7bn, it was the Ministry of Finance, which is unorthodox, to put it lightly. Why would the MoF need to intervene when that's usually the central bank's job, and the central bank has over $400bn of reserves? Something's not right.

Uh oh, ruble to dollar down to 61. And here I was hoping that number goes to 1,000,000 :(

I guess its time to take that Russian vacation I have been postponing.

@LeveragedBuyout I think what is more important, is whether the oil income of Russia would remain low for a long time. Their exports is always lower in winters, but by passing this season, specially if oil prices increases, they can get back on the track again.

Oil is as abundant as water. The world has no worry about oil. 99% of that stuff is in the ocean. On a side note, CO2 up to almost 400 now.

Even if AGW is not a problem, if CO2 goes to 600 then people would get a ton of headache every day :-)

 OK, but plants can enjoy this more CO2
Don't take those BS hoax stuff seriously.

Plants use very little CO2 because plants have no brains. 1 person puts out enough CO2 to feed 1,000 trees. Trees can't reduce CO2 that people spew into the air through industry and transportation and heating. During summer, plants reduce CO2 by about 3 ppm. Humans increase annual average CO2 by 3 ppm annually. Next year, annual average CO2 be over 400 ppm. Back in 1959, annual average CO2 was below 316 ppm.

OK, then stop cutting trees in Amazon, Indonesia, Congo, ... Then problem will be solved.
Of course every action of us has impacts on environment, but the environment adapts itself with the situations.

In nature, plants and animals are balanced. Plants make O2 from CO2, animals make CO2 from O2. Plants mainly algae. Animals mainly bacteria. Humans spew extra CO2 from heating, industry, transportation. That's why CO2 goes up by 3 ppm annually. Wonder how aliens killed themselves? By spewing CO2.

Since when Central Bank has become separated from the Ministry of Finance ?

Do you know how many species extinct each day in this so called balance? It's just about having the ability to adapt to new situations or not, and humans have not that much important role.

Nature adapts over millions of years. Nature can't adapt to such fast increase in CO2. The CO2 level has been remarkably constant over millions of years. But now look what humans are doing.

No animal can survive prolonged exposure to 600 ppm of CO2. Earth is remarkable in that Earth has very little CO2 compared to other planets. That's why Earth is very rare that it has life.
