Pawan hans is just the name of the operator. They ll be buying different sorts of helicopters.

Pawan Hans is one of the biggest buyer of Euro-copter.

This is good news but also very odd at the same time. I appreciate that Pawans Hans is state owned but it has an incredibly wide ambit and these purchases will add to this. In no other country is there one single organisation operating SAR/disaster management, medical evacuation, offshore oil rig AND TOURISM helos it just seems very odd and disjointed. It'd be better if the MHA was the umbrellas organisation not PAWANS HANS. (maybe this is nonsense indian journalism again, who knows, maybe it is MHA these are intended for).

It is even more odd when there are many other organisations that have similar roles as Pawans Hans, ie IAF for diaster relief and ONCG even operates their own helo fleet of Dhruvs.

Think about it from a training POV, will you have a civil pilot flying tourists who is also expected to carry out diaster relief?

Pakistanis like to talk about poverty in India in the next decade the the population under poverty line will decrease by almost half our poverty rate is going down whereas Pakistan's poverty rate has been going up since the end of the Kargil war.

@topic this is good infra development and it should be accepted by gov't on the other hand i think that the areas that really need helicopter transport are the mountainous states like the entire NE, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, J&K, etc
