We get all the Western arms way too overpriced. That is obvious. However, the US and other Super Powers wouldn't be selling us these advanced jets without the big gain they make. At the end of the day, and no matter how friendly the relations get, they see us as a Muslim country that could have adversary policies towrds them and most importantly towrds Israel. The differnce in cost is big, but let's remeber that these jets are very advanced too and could save the country's economic structure from attacks (which will save billions in return).
