Additional Chief Secretary Home Department says this incident is suspicious and investigation will be carried out.
KARACHI: Two believed to be involved in the Pirabad blast escaped from the Karachi City Court on Saturday, Express News reported.
The prisoners were brought to the court amidst tight security for an identification parade, where a witness identified them as the criminals involved in the blast.
After the hearing was adjourned, the prisoners managed to flee easily while the CID police officials were taking them back to the jail.
Even the court security failed to stop them.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Department Muhammad Waseem said that this incident of prisoners escaping from City Court is suspicious and investigation will be carried out.
This is not the first case of its kind. Earlier on Thursday, three criminals involved in serious terrorism cases fled from a court lockup in Karachi.
Ammar, Arsalan and Zubair were brought to the Anti-Terrorism Court for a hearing and were kept in the lockup until the hearing commenced. However, they managed to cut open the bars of the small window in the lockup and escaped.
