One of modern physics' dirty little secret is that relativity and quantum mechanics are fundamentally incompatible. Relativity forbids FTL information transfer, while QM demands it. All the attempts to 'unify' these two pillars of modern physics involve metaphysical handwaving involving umpteen dimensions, parallel universes and other science-fictional nonsense.
I recently ran across this interesting video. While I don't buy their theory of the 'Electric universe', and they have a distinct new-agey feel to them, they do point out some issues with modern physics.
