Exclusive: Myanmar’s Harakah al-Yaqeen not terrorists?

Rakhine State guerrilla group Harakah al-Yaqeen have issued a press release making 20 point demands from the Myanmar government and requesting assistance from the international communities in their fight against the oppression of the Rohingyas.
Harakah al-Yaqeen, a guerrilla group fighting the subjugation of and potential genocide against the Rohingyas, has claimed that they are not terrorists.

Previously known as the group now identifies themselves as Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), which they have used to sign off their very first press release issued on March 29.

“We do not associate with any terrorist group across the world.

“We do not commit any form of terrorism against any civilian regardless of their religious and ethnic origin as we do not subscribe to the notion of committing terrorism for our legitimate cause,” states the press release, which has already been circulated widely among the Rohingya people via social networks.

According to ARSA, since the 1970s, the Rohingyas have been subjected to genocide and crimes against humanity in an effort on the part of several Burmese regimes and governments to “exterminate” them from their native Rakhine.

“It becomes clear that Aung San Su Kyi-led government is not in any capacity to change the situation in any way while they themselves are being held as political hostages by the Burmese brutal Junta to bargain political leverage at the international arena especially with UN, US, EU and etc.”

“Therefore, in current Burmese political landscape, it is also essential to deal with Commander-in-Chief Ming Aung Hlaing (incumbent Myanmar army chief), who is the mastermind of on-going atrocities faced by Rohingyas.”

Signed by the group’s chief Ata Ullah, the release also mentions the October 9, 2016 attack on the Myanmar border outpost, and claims it was a “defensive attack” which was put forward to defend, salvage and protect the Arakan Rohingya community; a defence which according to them is their legitimate right under international law.

On October 9, in a revolt against the Myanmar government, Harakah al-Yaqeen launched a series of attacks on Myanmar Border Guard Police outposts in which nine policemen were killed. This sparked strong retaliation from the Myanmar security forces, culminating in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Rohingyas from the Rakhine State.

Expressing a hope that the international community would fulfil its moral responsibility by sending peacekeeping forces into the Arakan State (Rakhine State), the group also sought political, financial, technical and logistic assistance to strengthen their “legitimate” cause.

Stating their dedication toward continuing their “defensive” attack against the Burmese (Myanmar) regime, the group also put forward 20 points, prepared “in accordance with international human rights norms and principles,” which they demand that the Myanmar Junta regime and government should be made to comply with.

Aung San Suu Kyi already brought all of them to the table and they are more or less settled or have clear roadmaps with power agreements. All of their ethnic groups are fundamentally recognised as citizens of Burma alongside and equal to Bamar majority. Can ask @Aung Zaya

Rohingya (illegal BD) are the only ones left....because they started the atrocities in the first place (not happy with status quo granted to them) and now cry when they are getting the consequences. So MM will simply hunt down their terrorists, liquidate them and push the rest back to their country of origin (given they spawned these and activated them in the first place)....as opposed to say Chinese and Indian minorities in Burma (esp urban areas) who often were not given citizenship but certainly integrated better with Burmese (and vice versa) and certainly didnt start terrorist groups....and are now increasingly being given full citizenship (given India and China increased investment into MM and negotiation with MM govt - something BD never wanted to do).

It is clear from the language used by the senile, terrorist-thinking jamati in this very thread what Myanmar needs to continue to do. There is a reason I had him put on the Canadian internal security watchlist.

1. Arakan Muslims are facing genocide since the 1930's. Gen Aung San, first as a youth activist and later as the national leader of the Burmans, had played an active role in perpetrating these atrocities. The Rohingyas are, in the true meaning of the concept, waging a Jihad to protect themselves and to evict the intruders into their motherland.
2. It is enjoined / obligatory for all Muslims to participate in this Jihad. And such participation may be in various forms. Physical / military service. Contributing funds. Writing / speaking / lobbying for these unfortunate people.

If you knew the whole story of the massacres beginning 1930's, you would know that diplomacy won't work here. And read the history of the Burman race. They only compromised when forced to. There is no record in their long history of committing atrocities on peoples from Cambodia to Assam when they stopped atrocities except when forced to. They are the worst of human race. They must be fought and defeated.
