If SA wants Pakistan to send a detachment of troops then it means the threat from Daesh is not only real but higher than they originally estimated.

I think more than the threat of a monster created by Saudis and its friends themselves, it is about something else. It is probably to counter the suspicion of an internal coup by remnants of the dead king. It has more to do with internal power struggle between families of princes. The current king wants to buy legitimacy for himself and his family, while preempting any attempt to force him to share power with other families.
