That is a generalization, not saying its not true but its not completely right either and doesnt apply to all Arabs. Saudis tend to be more conservative and close minded but they have that attitude towards all arabs, my friend from palestine he lives in KSA and has found saudis to be the most obnoxious people to deal with. My uncle lives in the same country and had no such problems, racism is everywhere however we shouldnt generalize

.
You know, i don't really care if these Arabs shake their hands with india, it doesn't matter to me, its nothing knew, we should already have known the nature of our Arab "brothers"!

Why exactly are we surprised? I mean if we Pakistanis didn't have corrupt leadership we would also get honored abroad!

But the problem is we haven't changed ourselves, we should stop blaming india, America, and israel for everything! After all, Asif Zardari, Nawaz Sharif are PAKISTANIS and not indians , israelis, or Americans! If we can produce such corrupt leadership from within our own society then imagine how every ordinary Pakistani must be! After all the leadership of a nation is the reflection of its people!

If our leaders cared for their nation and not their own pockets maybe we would also receive respect from others, but when you go around to other nations with a bowl in your hands don't expect any respect! These leaders are the ones who have ****** up Pakistan, and these same leaders are elected by Pakistanis! Now that people are tired of Zardari they want to vote for Nawaz Sharif? The same Nawaz Sharif who cowardly ordered our forces to withdraw from Kargil (even though we had the upper hand)! Have people forgotten how prices went record high during Nawaz and Benazir era?

Even though indians might not have enough toilets, even though there might be slums in india, at least they are trying to improve their nation and they get a lot of respect from Saudi Arabia (one of Pakistan's allies)! Heck, even our leadership doesn't get this much respect and honor when they arrive in Saudi! India has improved much and they continue to, sooner or later they'll even get rid of the poverty in their country!

Just recently i read a article about Pakistan's diplomat to Syria:

New Pakistani Envoy to Syria “Invades” School With Family!

The new Pakistani ambassador to Syria, appointed by President Zardari, has summarily sacked the entire staff and faculty of the Pakistan International School in Damascus and appointed almost all his immediate family members for a collective monthly salary of $38,000 (Rs3.2 million).

The sacked teachers and staff members of the school run by the embassy, who were removed for no reasons and without any prior notice, have been compelled to go into litigation against the Pakistan Embassy, The News has learnt.

The Pakistan International School in Damascus (PISOD) is run by the embassy of Pakistan but within five months after the arrival of new ambassador, Aminullah Raisani, in September 2009, the management and faculty of the school was changed altogether without giving any reason and the school was stuffed with the relatives of the ambassador.

According to the list of newly inducted teachers Saeeda Yasmeen Raeesani has been appointed as Principal. She is sisterof the ambassador and is drawing $6,500 per month as salary while the previous principal Syed Tauseef Bokhari was getting $2,500. Another sister, Ms Abbas, has been appointed as Urdu teacher for $3,500 per month.

Two daughters, Amna Aminullah Raeesani and Quratulein Aminullah Raeesani, have been appointed as teachers. These two are getting $3,000 per month as salary while the school was paying only $1,700 for the same job to previous teachers.

Mohammad Ishaque, brother-in-law of the ambassador, has been appointed as accountant for $3,500 per month while the same job was previously with one Imran for just $900 a month. Attique-ur-Rehman and Syed Muhammad Ali, ambassador’s nephews, have been appointed as business teachers for $3,000 a month while the same job was done for $1,500 only before September 2009.

Nayla Atiq, granddaughter of ambassador’s sister, is working as Maths teacher for $3,000 a month while her predecessor was drawing $1,700 a month as salary. Ali Abdullah, the son-in-law of ambassador’s sister, and Muhammad Ahsan Shafique, ambassador’s cousin, have been appointed as teachers for $3,000 a month while their predecessors were drawing $1,500 a month.Another cousin of the ambassador, Rasheed Chattha, has been appointed as biology teacher for$3,500 a month while previously Ms Manal Sileman was doing the same job for $1,500 a month.

Ms Manal Sileman, one of the Syrian teachers of the Pakistani school who has been sent home without giving any notice and without any reason, while talking to The News from Damascus on phone said that it was strange that an ambassador instead of running the affairs of the embassy was keen in the business of the school.

She lamented that the ambassador has imported Chinese shoes and made it mandatory for every student to purchase those shoes at much higher rates. She said that the school was being ruined as the new incompetent teachers have been hired for more than double the salaries the previous faculty was getting.

Another teacher Saad al Hassan said that he has gone to the court with a heavy heart because he has served the school and Pakistan and now the court will issue an order against the Republic of Pakistan.

He said that he has respect for the Pakistani nation but because of a few people he has been compelled to go into litigation against the embassy and according to the Syrian laws the Pakistan Embassy in Damascus could be heavily penalised.

Saad said that the school was rated among the best in Damascus and the elite, including the foreign minister of Syria and deputy foreign minister, had started sending their kids to the Pakistan International School of Damascus but with the advent of new administration many have opted for other schools in the city.

He said that last year the school won eight gold medals in the Cambridge examination and the income of the school in 2006 was US$2,042,400 per annum and it rose to $4,774,000 per annum in 2009 with the number of students almost doubled i.e. from 600 to 1,100.

Ambassador Aminullah Raisani was too busy to talk to this correspondent. However his spokesman Zahid Ali who works as Counsellor in the embassy denied all these allegations. He said that the previous management was incompetent that was why it was sent packing while competent people have now been inducted in the school.

Zahid said that it was not true that the newly appointed teachers were drawing more salaries than the previous management. “We write to the Foreign Office of Pakistan about our tasks here,” Zahid replied when asked about some teachers going into litigation against the embassy.

if people like these are amongst us then DO you expect others to like us or respect us?

Saudi Arabia lauds contributions of Indian expats

28 Feb 2010, 2239 hrs IST, IANS

RIYADH: The Saudi Arabian leadership on Sunday lauded the contributions of 1.8-million strong expatriate Indian population to the development of their nation during the course of their engagements with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here.

"The Saudi dignitaries expressed very positive feelings about the presence of the Indian community here and the very important contribution they have made to this country," Latha Reddy, secretary (east) in the external affairs ministry, told the media.

Indians make up the largest expatriate community in this Gulf nation. Apart from professionals across various sectors, a vast number of Indians are engaged as blue-collar workers in the country's construction sector.

"They (the Saudi leadership) said that through their (expatriate Indians') trustworthiness and dependability, they have truly become not just the largest community of foreign nationals here in Saudi Arabia but also one of the most dependable," Reddy said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is on a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia Urges To Fight Militancy Of Pak`s Political Leadership

Monday, March 1, 2010 at 12:15 am under Pakistan Breaking news Buzz up!

Saudi Arabia Urges To Fight Militancy Of Pak`s Political leadership Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Saud al-Faisal said on Sunday he was heavily concerned with growing insecurity in Pakistan and urged Islamabad to collectively fight militancy. Al-Faisal’s remarks came after he held talks with an Indian leaders in Riyadh.

“Pakistan is a friendly country to us and therefore any time that one sees a dangerous thing in our friendly country, one is not only sorry but worried. We believe it is the duty of all political leaders in Pakistan to unite together, to see that extremism should not find its way to achieve aims in the country. And this can only happen by a united political leadership in Pakistan and we hope that this will be achieved,” al-Faisal told a news conference attended the Indian delegation.
Al-Qaeda-linked Pakistani militants have carried out numerous attacks on members of the security forces over the past couple of years. They stepped up strikes after the army launched an offensive on their main bastion in South Waziristan in October last year.
The Pakistani Taliban, allies of the Afghan Taliban, have lost much ground in the army offensives over the past year. Pakistani action against militants on the border is seen as crucial for efforts to bring stability to Afghanistan, where the US forces are spearheading one of NATO’s biggest offensive against the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Security forces have also carried out several other operations aimed at pushing back militants threatening towns and cities such as Peshawar, the main city in the northwest.

Al-Faisal distanced his government from the Taliban insurgents. “There is no relation between Saudi Arabia and Taliban. Relations were abrogated when Taliban gave sanctuary to Al-Qaeda and since that time till today there has been no relationship between Taliban and Saudi Arabia and that indicates the seriousness we give to that issue,” he said. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were among the few states, which recognised Taliban government in Afghanistan, but severed ties after 9/11 when Taliban provided safe havens to Al-Qaeda. Saudi Arabia is also worried about growing penetration and increased leverage of Al-Qaeda in adjoining Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

Saudi to double crude oil supply to India

Press Trust Of India / Riyadh March 01, 2010, 0:23 IST
Saudi Arabia today said it would double the supply of crude oil to India to around 40 million tonnes (mt) a year, a move that would help India meet the growing needs of its refineries.

The assurance came at a meeting between Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora and his Saudi Arabian counterpart Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi here today. Deora is part of the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on a visit to Saudi Arabia.

He said India looks for doubling of crude oil supply from Saudi Arabia as its three refinery projects at Bhatinda, Bina and Paradip near completion. Naimi assured Deora his country would increase allocation of crude oil for supply to India from about 25.5 mt a year to about 40 mt, according to an official statement.

The petroleum minister also referred to a greater possibility of cooperation and asked the Indian oil Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) led by Engineers India Ltd (EIL) to jointly open an office in Riyadh. India also evinced interest in sourcing heavier crude from Saudi Arabia and carry out an exchange of technical personnel between the two countries and cooperate on training in skill development in the oil and gas sector.

Singh is on a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia. The two countries have finalised 10 pacts, including an Extradition Treaty and agreements in the economic sphere for signing during the visit.

Conditions ripe for energy ties, says Manmohan
Opening India’s doors to Saudi entrepreneurs, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said the “conditions are ripe” for moving beyond a traditional buyer-seller relationship to a comprehensive energy partnership.

Singh did some hard selling, while addressing the influential Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry here. He invited Saudi businessmen to explore investment opportunities in India, particularly in the areas of construction, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, health, agriculture, energy, telecommunications, tourism and other service sectors, with an aim to substantially bolster bilateral trade, which touched nearly $25 billion in 2008-09.

Indian investments into the kingdom stand at more than $2 billion, covering over 500 joint ventures. Several major Indian companies have already established their presence in Saudi Arabia, Singh said, citing public sector firm Rites, which recently won a contract in the North-South Railways project.

“We deeply value Saudi Arabia’s role as a reliable partner in meeting our energy needs. We believe that conditions are ripe for moving beyond a traditional buyer-seller relationship to a comprehensive energy partnership,” said Singh.

Singh said Indian companies were well-equipped to participate in upstream and downstream oil and gas sector projects in Saudi Arabia. “We should also establish new partnerships in the area of new and renewable energy through sharing of clean technologies and joint collaborations,” he said.

Energy cooperation between the two countries witnessed a massive increase since King Abdullah’s Delhi visit in 2006, with Saudi exports jumping from $500 million that year to $23 billion in 2008, surpassing Iran as the largest supplier of crude oil to India.

Singh said India viewed its economic cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the wider context of its interactions with the entire Gulf region with which the country shares deep and historical ties. “The Gulf countries are our natural partners in every sense of the term. Our businesses should work together across the region, develop cross-country linkages and leverage economies of scale,” he said.

DAWN.COM | World | India seeks regional cooperation from S. Arabia

RIYADH: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh began the first visit to Saudi Arabia by an Indian leader since 1982 seeking to build economic ties and to enlist the kingdom's help in improving regional security.

Saudi Arabia has close ties with Pakistan and has also been cited as a possible mediator in any political settlement with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Some analysts had argued India should build its own relationship with Saudi Arabia, in part to ensure it does not lose out to Pakistan as countries position themselves for an eventual end to the eight-year-old Afghan war.

In an interview with Saudi journalists, Singh said he planned to discuss regional stability, which along with the Afghan war is complicated by a standoff between Iran and the West over Tehran's nuclear programme.

“I propose to review the regional scenario, and discuss how we can work together to address the complex issues at hand,” he said of his talks with King Abdullah.

Junior Foreign Minister Shashi Tharoor said India could seek Saudi support in persuading Pakistan to act against Pakistan-based militant groups -- adding however that this did not mean looking for Saudi mediation.

“Saudi Arabia of course has a long and close relationship with Pakistan but that makes Saudi Arabia all the more a valuable interlocutor for us,” Tharoor told Indian reporters.

“When we tell them about our experience, Saudi Arabia listens as somebody who is not anyway an enemy of Pakistan but rather as a friend of Pakistan, and therefore I am sure listens with sympathy and concern to a matter of this nature.”

FUNNY NOW WE ARE INDIAS FRIEND

India broke off talks with Pakistan after the November 2008 attack on Mumbai blamed on the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The top diplomats of the two countries held talks on Thursday but they have yet to resume a formal peace process.

Singh also said India wanted to strengthen energy ties with Saudi Arabia, its biggest supplier of oil. Like China, India is constantly working to secure energy supplies for its growing economy.

“We believe that conditions are ripe for moving beyond a traditional buyer-seller relationship to a comprehensive energy partnership,” he said.

“Indian companies are well-equipped to participate in upstream and downstream oil and gas sector projects in Saudi Arabia,” he told business leaders. Singh is the first Indian prime minister to visit Saudi Arabia since Indira Gandhi in 1982.—Reuters

The two leaders emphasized the importance of regional and international efforts focusing on making the Middle East and Gulf Region free of all nuclear weapons and all weapons of mass destruction.

The two leaders reiterated their support for ongoing international efforts to resolve the issues relating to Iran’s nuclear programme peacefully through dialogue and called for continuation of these efforts.
