A peaceful demonstration does not involve looting, setting fires to buildings and bashing people. There was no protest, there was no demonstration.

It is criminal acts plain and simple. You need to actually listen to the facts and stop pretending there was a protest going on.

It is not democratic to loot and set fire to buildings nor is it part of your human rights to loot or set fire to buildings.

Just because people aren't screaming out loud doesn't mean there's no protest. It had been established that the riots started with the killing of a black man by the police...so at least a part of the riots was to protest against that.

Then there were interview of youth saying they're "getting their taxes back" and that they have "no future"...so another two reason would be to protest against tax policies and economic policies.

Of course, once the violence and looting started it ceases to be a protest, I'll give you that....

But the funny thing is that some people completely failed to notice that the OP is a SATIRE...it's not meant to be real news, its meant to be a comparison to highlight the double standards and misinformation in Western media.

The criminalisation of the UK is the result of the government/law being too soft on criminals and giving them too much rights. I mean, if a burgular were to enter my house, if I harmed them, I would be treated as the criminal and prosecuted - WTF!

The police in Britain have actually been heavily criticised for their LACK OF ACTION, they have preferred to conduct "containment" tactics instead of offensive action. Only recently (Tues) were the police given the green light to use water cannons (which are not stationed anywhere in England, only in NI) and "baton" rounds. But this is only political posturing and police commanders have refused to use them and haven't been used in THIRTY YEARS.
