China doesn't interfere with people's marriage preferences, in China that's purely a personal matter.

Used to be true, not anymore, and foreign students have to pay dearly for the accomodations which are almost free for the Chinese students. You are comparing the richest foreign students with the poorest Chinese students, do you know how many Indian students struggle to come back to China to study?
