Murad Saeed, Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services on Monday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was going to add 6,147 kilometres highways in the national network to provide best transport infrastructure facilities to the people.

Addressing a vehicles handing over ceremony here, he said the authority had recovered Rs 20 billion through accountability and internal audit recovery during the current government’s regime.

Moreover, the government would construct 150 percent more roads than the previous governments, which already contributed 1,600 kilometers roads in the system to date.

The government would lay down around 3,250 kilometers roads in Balochistan where not more than 1,000 kms roads were constructed in the past ten years in the province.

The PTI government had initiated development work on western route of Pakistan China Economic Corridor (CPEC) to eliminate the distress of the people of underprivileged areas, he added.

Furthermore, Murad mentioned that the Prime Minister Imran Khan had inaugurated ground breaking ceremony of Zhob-Kuchlak and Khuzdar-Basima highway as around 60 percent of construction work was completed.

The construction work was also initiated on Khushab-Awaran and Ratodero to Shikarpur routes whereas the project of Dara Adam khel would be completed in near future.

“The NHA will also inaugurate the projects of Quetta and Dera Murad Jamali bypass during the ongoing month.”

He also shared the details of projects to be complete in next three months including Nokundi-Mashkel , Harnai-Sinjavi, Chitral to Gilgit Baltistan and other connectivity routes.

The minister added that the development work would be started on the construction of Shikarpur to Rajanpur road in next three months.

“The feasibility report of 796 km long Chaman-Quetta and Quetta to Karachi has been completed which would be built under the public private partnership.”
The communication ministry has decided to distribute the revenue generated though fines on motorway to improve the performance of attached departments.

The ministry has also handed over charge of newly constructed motorways to the NHMP.

Around 609 junior patrolling officers had passed out and the process was underway to appoint 1,200 more officers in the motorway police.

The government has integrated the prerequisite of motorway police required under the project including security cameras and vehicles for patrolling in the PC-1 of Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway project.

NHMP had launched “Hamsafar” Smartphone application to facilitate commuters by providing real-time road situation to commuters, instant weather updates and help motorway users in distress.

“With the help of this Hamsafar app, NHMP will respond quickly and serve the people more effectively.”
First time in the history of the country, the ministry of communication had launched road safety policy with the consultation of provincial transport department with an aim to control road accidents.

He ordered the relevant authority to generate awareness campaign on all platforms of media to sensitise the public on road safety traffic rules.

but inflation is higher and economy is shrunk ?

so whats the point in all the other numbers?

Inflation was bound to go higher either way, there was no other outcome. In no circumstances can Pakistan was in a position to sustain an import driven subsidized dollar consumption led growth any longer. We were at the brink of default when PTI took over.

A simpler way to put it is Pakistan needed external loans of at least 24-26 billion dollars (just to fund the CAD not including the interest payment which needed further financing) to sustain that 4-5% growth. Our condition was so bad that none was willing to provide us any further financing to even roll over our debt let alone for financing CAD. On top of all this we were throwing in 500 mil dollars every month in open market to keep the rupee artificially inflated to subsidize imports, by taking foreign loans.
At the other end there was a continuous influx of printed notes and to balance it off they flooded the market with cheap imported goods to keep inflation low, increasing consumption inflating GDP to maintain the false aura of economic prosperity.

What you witness in plmn tenure was a gimmick, a bubble bound to burst as soon as you run out of foreign financing to keep it afloat. The worst financial crisis Pakistan witnessed.

I am at the point I simply ignore PMLN trolls. They have no idea of macro economic conditions. All they see is good inflation and gdp numbers. And ignore the rest.

For God sake economy shrank this year by only 0.4% and never shrank but had comparable growth to PMLN first 2 years

Nominal or GDP conversion shrank but will adjust with high inflation (gdp nominal growth includes inflation as well)

What PMLN did is what you see in african countries
They rapidly print fake notes(called STATE BANK lending in techinical terms) that result is consumption both local & imported = gdp growth>>> collapse once everyone ends up with fake cash

They did it 10x so we went to IMF 10 times since 1985 when nawaz sharif invented this method by looking at zimbabwae and afghanistan

Happened 5x and will happen again 2028 under maryum nawaz

Whther we will survive it is different question

Who will be the saviour this time

Today former chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi explained in great detail how Nawaz Sharifs economic reforms act of 1992 legalized state sponsored money laundering and corruption

If there is somebody that needs to be hanged for deliberately destroying Pakistani economy, it's Sharif mafia and all its beneficiaries in establishment, bureaucracy and politics. This one mafia needs to be cleansed from everywhere if Pakistan is to prosper as a functioning state.
Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath | 4 January 2021

Nawaz Sharif attended only 4 cabinet meetings in 2015 vs Imran Khan's weekly meetings. Imagine that! General Gilani, General Zia ul Haq, and others who brought this Indian agent in power are responsible for all the damage Sharif mafia has done to Pakistan so far and will do in future

You need to put GDP growth 2020 ( or at least latest estimate from IMF/WB) so we can see clearer picture

Expert predicts Pakistan going to achieve GDP growth of 4-5 % in 2020-2021.

. . . . .

Dont get me wrong, I think it is impossible to achieve 4-5 % economic growth during pandemic. Vietnam can only achieve 2 percent and it is due to their successful effort to bring down the infection into zero rate, similar like China. Indonesia has 5.2 percent growth in 2019 and in 2020 the growth will be between minus 1.6 until minus 2.2 percent and even this growth is still better than minus 5.6 percent until minus 10 % experienced by most ASEAN 5 excluding Indonesia and Vietnam.

Enough BS , if IK doesn't take corruption seriously and start hanging and chopping of the hands of these thieves then he is just another face of the same coin. We need to start permanently eliminating the corrupts who have taken the food from Pakistani children's mouths to stuff their Swiss accounts and live lavish lifestyles in the west.

If you get stronger economically then you shut up all the international dog who starts barking at you whenever you put a local dog in chains. Dog biradri is a very strong biradari
