I believe we can reverse our fortunes if we smarten up. Pakistan is probably the most geo strategically advantaged country in the world. IN:mamba: is aware of this fact and created a rift between our brotherly country Afghanistan so a Western Central Asian block doesn’t become unified and Pakistan being one it’s leading force.....

It is imperative we immediately commence the construction of a network of gas pipelines from Western Central Asian neighbours, to northern territories and linking it to the coast of Pakistan. Due to shortages of gas supply in Europe and Russian monopoly on this racket, Europeans are left to the mercy of tyrannical regimes and are paying astronomical amounts for a common basic commodity.
I believe we could lift an entire region of states such as Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan out of poverty and avail them the opportunities to sell their resources at international market prices.

The pre-historic proposed and extensively examined C.A.O.P pipeline running to the coast of Baluchistan and other pipelines be added so there is more global availability of oil, and monopoly on these resources of certain states be ended, such initiatives will enhance growth of stagnant western economies and stabilize emerging markets...

Sino-Turk-Afgh-Pak oil pipeline

Chinese ever growing demand for oil and can be quenched by building a pipeline from rich central Asian oil fields of the black sea to the coast of Kashmir and bring peace between competing superpower for energy resources.

All these projects Pakistan should start constructing from it’s own funds,(or assistance international organization) so such developments aren’t hindered due to global political environment by instigator menace IN :mamba:. And Pakistan maintains control over such strategically valuable infrastructure. Pakistan should allow the free transit of such resources within it’s territory so disputes don’t arise between neighbours regarding fees and etc.... but in return Pakistan acquire favourable trade agreements between the west plus it’s most allied of allies USA :usflag::usflag:

Pakistan should allow the flow of such resources to western allies without any charge of transit fees or etc... but in return acquire favourable trade agreements

Note: Indian trolls masquerading as Pakistanis keep your sarcastic, snide, or discouraging comments to yourself

No doubt about it. Pakistan can serve as an energy and trade corridor for the whole region. China in particular is hungry and requires the resources to expand and prosper. Pakistan must make the most of serving as a secure and reliable supply route. The opportunities are simply endless. One important condition is that the artificially created security situation needs to improve drastically over the next few years if Pakistan wants any success regarding its geostrategic importance.

Regarding your security concern then i would remind you of iraq, nigeria , sudan..and the list goes on, (they have an extensive network of piplines) these are places where the energy is recovered from, and they have no problems of maintaining the flow of output, you just need proper motivational factor of national monetary gain, and it would be suffice to say our military numbering 1.3 million would be sufficient protecting such strategic treasures...

We need to immediately commence the construction of such projects it would provide much needed employment to youth and the educated class..... Last i heard we're going to be spending 12 billion for one single dam, if we're to set aside half that money and establish independent(non-foreign involvement) gas&oil pipeline infrastructure to carter to the western & Americans allies it would raise our clout, dignity and et.. at international stage. Rather then receiving pittance for such enormous relief to the western economies, we should establish trade agreements for mutually beneficial relationship

Still, Pakistan cannot afford to have instability which will always have a negative impact on the economy. The countries that you have mentioned aren't reliable and stable places to invest. That's the reason why many multinational companies hesitate to invest long term. Pakistan must at all cost aim to improve the security situation and gladly the Pak army is just doing that.

No country mentioned above shares border with india or afghanistan.
so the geography of Pakistan is unique and so are the risks and dynamics.
No other state or state of war can be compared with it.
BTW... i have the feeling that on diplomatic level Pakistan is on very low level due to present rulers. I have heard people talking about them very lowly...

. .
of course, pakistan is located in the startegic location... look at the agony pakistan undergoes everyday in the form of bomb blast. as long as security is the major concern in pakistan no one will dump their $$$$$ in pakistan. dont forget one thing, it will take atleast 5 years for pakistan to return to normal. terrorism is deep rooted everywhere. it seems the people of pakistan takes it as a way of life as we consider corruption in india.even today there was a bomb blast in karachi..and the situation is going to get worse in the short term and there would be a huge question mark regarding how pakistan will handle if at all US leave Afganistan.

how could a foreign national will invest when your army is willing to play the taliban card after 2011..just imagine a scenario of another attack in the US by some al queda or taliban element after 2011..
then the next US invasion again will not be in Afganistan but it will be pakistan. now the fate of pakistan lies in the hands of army..

i have seen most of you were supporting army regarding the kerry lugar amendment. why? if a military establishment openly criticises the aid your country receives even though it wanted to strenghthen your social sector...
as long as your army plays politics in your country you have to forget about any investment not just in oil but also in whatever the area you mean...

i strongly beleive that your army is misguiding your country and the payoff has just started, and remember its upto you people to decide who will have a say about your internal and external affairs..

.
terrorism is deep rooted everywhere
And it just happened suddenly? Terrorism is deep rooted in indian army and this is why we see bomb blasts every day in Pakistan.
i have seen most of you were supporting army regarding the kerry lugar amendment. why?
Why????? don't you respect the opinion of majority?
We can earn much more just by asking for transit fees! only, if you bother to see the posted map, and now since KL bill is approved in the face of larger oposition, come back when KL bill money will be seen on ground.
Money is being used as bribe to serve foreign interests.

You are just getting return on investment.

to solve a problem, its diagnosis is foremost important..if you still believe that your country dont face the threat of terrorism, it shows your sheer ignorance.

who is the majority, THE ARMY???? you tell me what is the business of the army in raising voice against the aid. you know why? because the $$$$ that will go into generals pocket will very low..

No country is safe from instability in the new global realities of international insurgency. I would like to call attention to the most powerful state on earth (USA) which has had many outbreaks of such incidents and growth of outfits: Waco Siege, Militia movement, A.R.M, KKK, black panthers, civil rights movements, C.IC.M, W.CA.P.M, N.N.C.M, C.D.F.M, and 9\11, Oklahoma bombing, trade center bombing, Columbine, Virgina tech, etc...

Much publicized Uyghur riots in china; did it impede investment or production of exports?

And of course you’re probably familiar with Tibet.

One perfect model is Turkey: with ever going increase of insurgency on its eastern border. Turkey is broiled in war in Kurdistan, which occupies oil-fields and strategic -pipeline. PKK rebels are supported by several foreign entities such as Iraqi Kurds, Greece and Armenia, as well as compounded by al-Qaida networks operating within its boundaries, so you may ask, has the oil supply been severed to the Mediterranean, Planning and construction of new mega projects suspended? Fortunately NOT! And for some Indian Trolls unfortunately.

No country mentioned above shares border with india or afghanistan.
so the geography of Pakistan is unique and so are the risks and dynamics.

Every country has unique surrounding domains. Pakistan isn’t the only one which has spats with its neighbours, in fact there isn’t a single nation on earth which doesn’t have some type of dispute within its vicinity, does it mean it terminate its plans of future developments and growth.

No other state or state of war can be compared with it.

The new global of phenomenon of terrorism is quite prevalent internationally. Difference is Pakistan should adapt to effectively eliminating such fierce menace and proxies.

Again I would remind you of the extremely hostile situation (domestically and externally) these countries are facing. Iraq and Iran went to war with each other, there are still on-going disputes regarding lands and oil-field and internal ethnic strife and Kurdistan etc.... Nigeria has numerous territorial and water disputes with, Libya, Cameroon, Chad, Niger (plus internal conflicts) Do you even know what’s going on in Sudan?

That's the reason why many multinational companies hesitate to invest long term.

As for your argument about investment which has nothing to do with what I am discussing, but I shall indulge you, maybe you should educated yourself with the current reports of world affairs.

Northern Iraq is thriving; American companies are contributing to the local economy

You might be correct about Africa but again you are confirming my line of reasoning that such infrastructure can be built-in and operate in volatile regions.

BTW... I have the feeling that on diplomatic level Pakistan is on very low level due to present rulers. I have heard people talking about them very lowly...

I hold my country in the highest regard, though he does have a great number of flaws but as leader of our nation we must always show a unified front in support of stability on public domains so our enemies can’t benefit from exploiting such weaknesses.

countries that you have mentioned aren't reliable

Don’t insinuate as if these were the only three countries I was referring to due to the fact I stated “list goes on” and in which case, a thorough comparative analysis of every single county mentioned below and how their instability factor higher or lower is any different from Pakistan? would be of proper order from you.

Following countries are economically expanding due to oil and have identical in stabilizations factors higher or lower to Pakistan

Saudi Arabia: 10.25 million bbl/day
Iran: 4.3 million bb/day
Mexico: 3.5 million bbb/day (same type war as pakistan)
Venzuela 2.67 million bbl/day
Nigeria: 2.35 million bbl/day
Iraq 2.9 million bbl/day
Alergeria 2.17 million bbl/day
Angola 1.9 million barrel/day
Libya 1.845 million bbl/day
Azerbaijan million bbl/day
Kazakhstan 1.45 million bbl/day
Indonesia 1.05 million bb/day
India 0.8 million bbl/day
Colombia 5.5 hundred thousand bb/day
Ecuador 5.12 hundred thousand bb/day
Equatorial Guinea: 3.68 hundred thousand bbl/day
Congo, Republic of the: 2.67 hundred thousand bbl/day
Gabon: 2.44 hundred thousand bbl/day
Brunei 1.8 hudred thousand bbl/day
Turkmenistan: 1.80 hundred thousand bbl/day
Trinidad and Tobago: 1.63 hundred thosand bbl/day
Chad: 1.56 hundred thousand bbl/day
Turkey 45 thousand bbl/day

Cameroon: Tunisia: East Timor: Bolivia: Côte d'Ivoire: Papua New Guinea: Croatia: Congo, Democratic Republic of the: Burma: Suriname: Serbia and Montenegro:Mauritania: Ghana: Bangladesh: Israel: Belize: Barbados: Georgia: Kyrgyzstan: Tajikistan: Zambia: Morocco: Dominican Republic:Slovenia Sierra Leone:Morocco:
90 percent of the worlds oil is recovered and transmits from instable regions

This type of pessimism would be employed by our enemies, to defeat public’s confidence in Pakistan and it’s future

We don’t require any financial investment due to the fact we have the biggest gold reserves on planet earth, which could be leveraged to adopt a paring currency for the importation of raw materials, metals and other supplies for the construction of a manufacturing base

Again our military would be utilized to protect such precious assets

Plus our ally :usflag:America would see fit to protect it’s burning addiction (oil) and other instigating creatures, Would be forced to fall into line:sniper::mamba:

Biggest gold reserve?   you wish.

Who on this forum considers "America" an ally? There's a thread about that also. Suggest you take a close look there about opinions from fellow Pakistanis.
