Restricted Mobility of Indian missiles

Then easily hunt down
to hunt down 1st you need to find out were the missile is... how did you find an agni 5 missile from 3,287,590 sq. km of indian mainland? and SLBM is under development, if INS arihant is out there (in indian ocean) then how pakistan can know were is agni -5 at that time??

Intelligence and staletile easliy hunt down massive missile.

listen folks..nothing stops India from bombarding the *** off the intruder when it becomes necessary to do so. So relax, package will be delivered as and when it is required.

Time will tell if India will have a 3 service solution or a single solution under the sea.
Or perhaps more likely its a mix. But I don't see a road mobile strategic missile like Agni 5/6 being an issue or needed given given the range and value of the missile.
India is not Russia. Protecting such strategic assets out in the open would be troublesome. Let alone the whole mating the warhead to the missile.

DRDO should work on custom built TELs. Something on the line of Russian RS-24 ICBM

Really? DRDO should be given more money and sent to build a TEL for Agni?
Your people are whats wrong with DRDO.
How many TELs like this do you think India needs? maybe 24? so why spend millions maybe billions or RnD when you could have paid the Russians in Basmati rice for 24 TELs? Or got Mahindra and my Tatas to make a sausage?
You and your people truly belong in Business.

And that's what Intelligence agencies are for. I am pretty sure ISI already might have locations of some of the Indian Nukes. Some Nukes are high yielding ones are guarded more stringent. Pakistanis do have not much satellite imaging, but China may/not helping them with that.
I am also sure India also knows about the exact quantity, location of half or majority of Pakistani nukes. We also have the advantage of satellites.
In case of war, Nukes locations are the ones targetted first.

Obviously Agni-5 will be on one of the 'Major roads" as a vehicle of this size cannot be in Rural roads. Not many roads in India can take a vehicle of this size, and even then it will be a slow coach.

On the other hand Pakistan has invested in both Missiles and TELs.
This is the older version of Shaheen -2 TEL,very basic and no crew accommodation.

This is the later version with crew accommodation on the TEL

In the long term, the deterrence will mostly come from India's SSBNs anyway.

Those are the guaranteed second strike capability.

Mobility of 5000+ km missiles is a moot point since they can be positioned far away from PAF bases strike range (if they even want to take on the S-400 :D) To get those by missile strikes instead (assuming Pakistan has target fix because India has somehow left them out in the open) means Pakistan launches will be detected by Indian radars and satellites...allowing more than enough time for a massive response at the distances we are talking about.

Regular short and intermediate range missiles will again be afforded coverage with S-400. So even in the time-window from now till India establishes a large SSBN based deterrent...I don't see any big gaping hole on account of some "TEL mobility" issues.

Fanciful dream thinking....along the lines of this @shaheenmissile guy saying Nasr is a miniaturised unproven Pu warhead :P like he did earlier and that "modern" plastic explosives lead to significant mintaurisation (he shied away from responding when I pointed out the clear flaws in this line of thinking).

. . .
They have adversaries several levels above Pakistan. Don't let the truth hurt you Mr. Nasr Plutonium warhead.
Really? China is a lesser adversary ? Specially when India repeatedly claims that Agni-5 is for China not Pakistan? Yet they think China has no ability to monitor and destroy all Agnis as they will be on major roads anyway.

Really? How many spy satellites does Pakistan own, which has the resolution to distinguish between a truck and an ICBM carrier?

If you look at the phone number on that crane, it belongs to Uhaul in US.

I'm saying China, Russia and the US all have adversaries way more capable than Pakistan. Pakistan C4ISTAR is very limited in respect to the entire Indian land mass....not even going to go into SSBN here.

Yet they think China has no ability to monitor and destroy all Agnis as they will be on major roads anyway.

They certainly do have a certain capability right now (way more than Pakistan ever will)....though nowhere close to the level you are claiming (unless you somehow have direct access to Chinese Intelligence gathering assets). Every asset has a limitation too....which the enemy will be aware of and take counter measures to exploit. There is no 100% fool-proof method which is why every powerful country always ensures it has multiple avenues to ensure a deterrence.

It's why India is shoring up its SSBN capability before we become worried about small incremental improvements to our TEL launchers.
