Resignations' verification: Speaker issues final notice to PTI MNAs

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Speaker National Assembly Sardar ayaz Sadiq has issued the final notice to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MNAs to visit his chamber in the National Assembly and verify their resignations individually otherwise all the resignations will be accepted. The PTI MNAs have been directed to appear before Speaker National Assembly before 2 pm on October 29.

Notice states that the members may come to office collectively but verification of the resignations will be done individually. It has been stated that the PTI MNAs were given ample time to verify their resignations. Failure to appear on October 29 will mean that they did not want to follow the due process and the resignations will be accepted.

PTI MNAs tendered their resignations on August 22 but did not appear before Speaker National Assembly despite being invited several times. Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also asked by speaker to appear in his office but Shah Mehmood didn’t. Notice says that PTI MNAs attended the joint session of the parliament on September 3rd.

Earlier on October 23, parliamentary parties’ meeting headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had decided to postpone the verification of resignations. Attendants of the meeting had agreed upon it that acceptance of PTI resignations will give birth to a new turmoil. They also agreed upon it that the acceptance of resignations will create problems for local body elections and by-election as well.

Because they really don't want to or mean to, resign.

The leader of the house has blatantly lied on its floor. If the speaker does the same it won't be a shock. There are also serious rigging allegeations against him and he is under investigation. What if he claims that the PTI members told him in private they don't want to resign? I would be wary of these crooks. They have been playing dirty.

Haha you guys are funny. Speaker said that you guys can come collectively but process of verfication will be done individually because speaker is required to ensure that a resignation is submitted voluntarily and without outside pressure as per rules of procedures and conduct of national assembly 2007. There were also many pti MNAs who refused to resigns
