Reservation for SC/ST in promotions.

I think reservations for dalits are fine, for another few years we should continue this.
Dalits were supressed for thousands of years, This natually made them economically backword and they are not much in main stream.

So, now whats wrong in giving them some credit when we opressed them for years and years only that made them backword?

The fact is not all backward castes is poor and not all forward castes are rich. So its better reservation is given based on income.

The way i look at it.. this only encourages the section of society to stay under the caste barrier. right way to go about will be their social, educational & economic upliftment of underprivileged...be it from any caste or creed. By providing them with exemption will only make them not work hard as people from other class to achieve their goal.
This in effect will never abolish this menace of caste based discrimination & close the gap. Infact it will widen. We have a classic example of Meena & Gujjar conflict in Rajastan. Fight is all about Gujjar's wanting to be considered as people from lower class.. just to benefit from the quota system.

Sons of reserved category IAS officers and well established Doctors ..Teachers ..Engineers studying in my school are no way oppressed ...

yes but there are ways to stall a passage of a bill even when u r not inclined to oppose it. Remember what happened to Lok Pal bill, the govt. is promising to get it passed since 1970s but still it is in standing committee. This bill will certainly not get passed in the current session as the BJP is not letting the parliament function over coal scam. After that it can make some issue & can ask the bill to be send to the standing committee.

For example, I am well educated because my family is. Many of my dalit frends are not because their family isnt. Even after quota they could not even continue study because their family was not supporting. Reason is they were expected to some kind of JOBs only. Because they were dalits.

I don't know about rest of India, but in Kerala if you are a SC/ST you don't have to pay even a single paisa for your education.All you have to do is to concentrate on your studies.

Ant and Grasshopper – The Indian Version


Original Story:
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs dances plays the summer away. Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.

The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

i am a doctor and i am seriously planning to leave to usa if this shitty plan is implemented. i scored 94% in +2 in odisha and in 14 rank in odisha jee . am also in top 5% of the class. now if my country doesnt love me why the fuk should i?
