AH-64E is better than WZ-10, but TaiWan only has 30 PLA can produce more than hundreds.

WZ-10 == AH-1Z, China has other heavy armed helicopter project developing like AH-64 and Mi-28.

You both are Chines then why republic of China is not in Chines control?

True. Taiwan will never be able to stop China from invade Taiwan. Taiwan can only plan to make it very costly. China would lose if it have to kill more than 10 people if it invade Taiwan. Their best result would be peaceful unification. But this can only happen when China is more developed and maybe even more democratic.

I thing soon in future China and Taiwan will be one peacefully I hope Taiwan must Consider that it was the part of China which was given to British when China was a Kingdom You both are one Blood Pakistan and Pakistani would be happy when you two will have a peaceful unification.

Taiwan to receive six more Apache choppers Thursday

A second batch of six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters will arrive in Taiwan on Thursday as scheduled, a military source said Wednesday.

The US-made helicopters will be shipped to a harbor in the southern city of Kaohsiung and later sent to an Army Aviation Special Forces base in neighboring Tainan to be assembled there, the source told CNA.

The six aircraft are part of a 30-helicopter package purchased by Taiwan at a cost of more than US$2 billion. The model E is the latest in the Apache attack helicopter series.

Taiwan took delivery of the first batch of six Apache choppers in early November, all of which have been grounded for safety checks since mid-December after Taiwan was notified of a malfunction in a helicopter of the same model used by the US Army.

However, no problems were found in the six helicopters already delivered to Taiwan, the source said.

On Dec. 17, Taiwan's Army was notified of a main transmission failure in an AH-64E Apache helicopter being used by the US military. The source said it was the first such problem encountered in the new Apache helicopter.

Out of concern for safety, the ROC Army has since grounded all of its Apache helicopters pending a full investigation by the US into the cause of the malfunction.

"We have not received any further information from the US on the cause of the problem," the source said.

The newly delivered choppers, therefore, will also be grounded for safety checks after their arrival, the source said.

In the meantime, "our pilots can use simulated aircraft for training," the official said.

Delivery of the third, fourth and fifth batches of Apache helicopters is scheduled for March, May and July, the source said.

The US and Taiwan are the only two countries that use the latest model of Apache helicopters.

Second batch of Apaches arrive in Taiwan

Six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters arrived in Taiwan on schedule Thursday, the second batch in a 30-helicopter deal with the United States.

The US-made aircraft were shipped to a harbor in the southern city of Kaohsiung, from which they will be carried by truck to an Army Aviation Special Forces base in neighboring Tainan for assembly, military officials said.

Taiwan spent more than US$2 billion on the model-E helicopters, the most advanced of the Apache series.

The first batch of six helicopters, delivered in early November, have been grounded for safety checks since Dec 17 after a malfunction in a helicopter of the same model used by the US Army.

No problems have been found in Taiwan's first six Apaches, but the newly delivered helicopters will still be grounded for safety checks, according to a military source familiar with the matter.

Pilots at the Tainan base will use simulators for training purposes while checks continue, the source said.

Taiwan has not received any further information from the US on the cause of the problem, Army Aviation Special Forces officials said.

The third batch of Apache helicopters is scheduled to arrive in March, followed by the fourth batch in May and the fifth in July, the military source said.

Taiwan is the only country other than the US to be in possession of the latest model of Apache helicopter known for its ground attack capabilities.
