Someone commented in the same thread he is from the same area and it was a clash of two tribes over some enmity.

There are two tribes that have been fighting for ages. I guess its turi and bangash. One happens to be sunni and the other shia. Though its true many shias from the area have been recruited by iran. Shias of the area have also messed with afghan taliban at times. But mostly its enmity between two tribes and both tribes are located within Pakistan borders, though they do use Afghanistan territory to attack each other. Parachinar is bordered by Afghanistan from 3 sides.

Parachinar has a long standing and ongoing rivalry between Turi and chamkani tribes.
Both have attacked each other in the past.

The main issue is a safe passage via Parachinar for insurgency operation from/in Afghanistan. because the "Parrot beak" of Khurram agency is the shortest route from KPK to Kabul.

NO . Mohmand dam in Mohmand Tribal district and Diamer-Basha in GB and some part of KP . Both are different places . The fight mentioned above is tribal fight over long disputed land in Kurram tribal area .
